Here you can post questions on e& e.

most engineers in malaysia are just high class technicians.

I'm a first year EE student in the Uni of Melbourne, 1 month into the course. So far, first year would be mainly introductory courses. Currently taking first year physics and maths, intro to programming and digital systems 1.

Just curious about other people's experience studying E&E, especially the final year project. How is it like in other universities?

I have a friend who studied e and e at university of east london, his local uni.

I was thinking about studying electronic and computer engineering at surrey but then i'd have to stay in guildford as the train fare there was too expensive to be travelling there everyday. I went there for an open day and i saw lots of malaysians there in the common room. Its quite a small uni but its up there in the league tables. Top twenty i think.

PJKru> Is getting more malaysian student in UK innit? I'm here since 4 years ago, I'm really found that you can meet malaysian student everywhere in UK.

profmich> I'm from University of Leeds, well, the first step before we do our final year project is we need to choose a major, i.e. programming, control, power system, communication, circuit system, RF or..... etc. For me, I chose control and power, have to admit that its very tough to start, which we need to prepare a proper proposal and project schedules. Basic understanding always the most important (i.e. What is transient?), always start with mathematical evaluation before we do a conclusion in theoritical(this is engineer :D ), every sentences inside your report is copyrighted, otherwise must put a reference. Finally, presentation, you don't have to worry if you did the report 100% by yourself.

Yup, that's true. That's normally how it is. Think of it as a warm-up session. Well, I did my Bachelors and Masters in EE within 5 years and still feel like it's a warm up session. Although you get into the more complex stuff in your final years, there's always more things to it. That's why I did my Masters. Then again, there's still more stuff to it and I finally decided to just go out and get some working experience.

I guess the most basic and useful course for EE in the freshman or sophomore year is the Electrical Network class. It'll enlighten you about Kirchoff's current and voltage law, RLC circuits, etc...) I still use it right until today...

I am choosing my course online now but i get a little bit confuse about the course EE.Can somebody discuss more detail about this topic :?:

The only thing that i can say is, if u like theory things and abstrack thing, and u DO have great imagination, u should go for E&E, i mean for those who are interested in engineering field.

Well, I should say that E&E has good prospect in Malaysia as Malaysia is a developing country now we she need a lot of this type of engineers.
