I am not currently studying in local uni's medicine course so I can't be 100% sure about this, but from what I heard the public unis (UM, USM, UKM etc) are more well established with good experience in clinical teaching, while some new private unis are pretty lacking in that regard. By clinical teaching I am referring to teaching by doctors in the hospital environment with actual patients.

It's hard to decide which is better but the top local and private universities should be equally good. I'd say UM, USM, Monash, PMC and maybe IMU or UKM would be among the more established universities.

However, I'd avoid going to lower tier universities like MAHSA or RCMP for medicine. I hear that UMS is pretty dodgy in terms of lecturers and teaching quality but I might be wrong.

The names listed above are by definitive nor are they exhaustive.... It's based mostly on personal opinion/intuition and as you probably know, I might be wrong. However, the bottom line is, try going for the more established universities because frankly, there are so many medical schools being set up nowadays that you can't tell doctor from homicidal officer.
