Try to take this quiz here. It provides a lot of details about yourself. I find this quite useful. :)

QS is much better than CS for me. QS mainly deals with the costs for a construction and also the contracts. So, I think the poor condition of the construction sites will not affect you much and not all construction sites are in bad condition. Plus, QS is in great need as architects and structural engineer. They all work together to make the construction of a building successful.
I agree with your friend that CS is a crowded course. But still, if you have great passion and the talent to achieve a stupendous result in CS, then you can go ahead and choose this course but bear in mind that MANY people chooses this course as its easier to study compared to QS.
Anyway, this is just my point of view and correct me if i'm wrong. The final decision is in your hands. :)

CS is only a 'cheap' and crowded course in Malaysia because frankly, the general public cannot differentiate between CS and a normal IT/data admin graduate.
In any other country, CS graduates are highly qualified and are often competitively employed by top software companies or seeked out to perform research.
I know for a fact that, contrary to the Malaysian perception, MANY high achievers in Australian Year 12 opt to do CS or a CS/maths/engineering double degree in university. More often than not, the whizz kids are quickly snapped up the moment they graduate because talented CS graduates are rare and valuable to the company. The same is true for Stanford/Carnegie Mellon CS graduates in the US or India Institute of Technology in India.
However, if you are to remain in Malaysia, I would not recommend pursuing CS because frankly, the IT job market in Malaysia is mostly limited to fixing computers and managing databases..... Not the most glamorous jobs in the world. If you do have a chance (and the ability) to further your studies in a decently prestigious foreign university, by all means take CS because opportunities await you. Otherwise, you'd be better off taking QS.
