Stress? What stress?
*crawls back to bed*
I'm not a terribly motivated person so I just do my best, although "my best" doesn't really mean a lot :(

Prepare for exam early...nothing beats consistent study.
If prepare early then you dun feel the stress.
Procrastination:
Hard-work pays off in the future
BUT laziness pays off NOW

do u think it?s a big problem if we fail one or two subjects?
you might want to read "Dare to Fail" by Billy Lim.

oh.. thanx for reminding me of that book..
i hv read his book b4..
but if we fail the next semester we are burdened...
just that if we pass things would be easier...

It's call 'triage'
Save those you can save, scuttle those that you can't.
The Billy guy's book is more about risk-taking than comforting yourself.
I don't think your professor will appreciate his philosophy that much.
Personally, I think deep down inside, he is a loser (and a wanker, if I might add...)

Einstein failed in his exams and was out of his uni because his course is in French and he face a lot of language problems...
I think now I am facing the same stress as everything is in German here...

that guy failed terribly in his political campaign and he never bangkit semula.. it?s contrary to his own believe...
not to mention billy lim lost his 2 towers of books...

personally i just love exam week.the whole campus seem to be alived 24,7.
stress?
well, dont study at the eleventh hour.do all the past semester exams.keep your eye on the pattern, see which subtopics are more emphasized.
call mum and dad and tell them about what papers you gonna take.i'm pretty sure they gonna say soothing words to alleviate the stress.
and finally, say a bit of prayer.
and when the day arrive, let the pen dances.
and always bear this dictum in mind," Do your best and God will do the rest".
if u study right,i'm pretty sure failing is the last option shown by God.
good luck though.my best wishes.

I think most of the stress during exam is self-inflicted. I face a fair share of stress myself too in my life too.
I would say that it is easier said than done, but I would suggest those who face stress, to avoid compare with others. Peer comparison would sort of influence and perhaps "force" us to work harder, but it may cause undue pressure.
A better comparison would be against yourself. See how you have performed in the coming semester, compared to your earlier semester.
Set a target and work hard, but be realistic with your own target.
And also remember the difference of play field, especially for those that have moved to new environment. Where do you stand before? and Where should you think you would stand right now? Like, you used to be studying in a local high school, where students are all from the same town, whereas now, you are studying with fellow top scorers in the state? country? world? etc..

One should also not be over-ambitious or over-estimated.
Like they say, the higher you go, the harder you fall.
Going too high up brings unnecessary pressure.

Stress can be healthy. For some its a perfect motivation for studying, thats why they learn at the eleventh hour and still pass. So it depends on the person.
Try to de-stress by playing games, take a short walk, forget your worries. Some of those smarties do it all the time on the eve of exam day...oh and good luck in your exams.

Fine line between healthy stress and unhealthy stress, mate.
Stress leads to elevated chance of cardiovascular disease, mental illness, suicide, cancer...the list goes on and on. From a health perspective, a danger of nightmarish proportion if not dealt with properly.

i think that stress is created when you know what you want, but you find that it is not easy to achieve.
just put your best foot forward.

And a good de-stress would be ReCom.org , but please do not get over-addicted especially when you have other more pressing stuffs to do.

One good stress-buster...not for everyone though.
FPS= First Person Shooter
Games like Quake, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Serious Sam...
It can be quite relaxing shooting 'simulated' ppl or aliens up.

the effects of stress depends on what kind of stress you are experiencing, if you put too much pressure on yourself to achieve the sky, the i call i overstress......set a realistic target, then go for it,only when you managed to reach the level then you can set it higher.....
but on the other hand, too little stress can make you become contented and thus work less hard than your maximum capacity...
so what do you all think, jus how much stress will be just right for you??
btw, my way of releasing stress is to listen to the radio while studying, when one of my favourite songs is being aired, i'll just sing along with it...quite a good way to get a little rest and cut down the stress level for a little while

I feel that if one knows how to play a music instrument, be it piano, guitar, violin, drum etc, the playing of the instrument is a very good way to help to relieve the stress of the brain and relax as exams stress is purely on the brain.

You know the Japanese came up with some sort of a store where you can throw plates and curse on a microphone inside a sound-proof room. Sounds like a good idea to me....

Yeah...nothing like firing some bullets into the heads of Nazi soldiers in MOHAA and CoD.
CS is also good for stress relief, but only if you play with your friends. The bots for CS is terrible (read: no skill).

I'm not sure I feel stress or not but I think as a normal person, I should have felt it when the exam week is near. I am not a self motivated person. I need someone to push me only I can do my work and revise but when it's the exam week, I woke up in the midnight and read my books on my own. Is this called stress?
CS? of course it releases stress but only when you're playing with your friends. Bot's make you bored :P Another way for me to release stress is SLEEP.... When I sleep I tend to forget everything. I'll feel different when I wake up after that. Musics help too.... Maybe coz my stress is not really stress :P
What do you people think of those who tends to hurt themselves when they're stressed up?
Randomphantom

Hurt themselves with what, a knife?... that sounds crazy. Maybe a nice punch bag to release all that tension inside TAKE THAT!!!

I have heard stories of this American Peace Corp volunteer who used to teach in my father's primary school back in the 1960s. He told me that this guy does slash himself and screams loudly at night on a regular basis. BTW, the place is quite a wee bit into the interior of Sarawak.
Stress?

It's not stresses up or mentally ill, but stressed up till mentally ill. Or perhaps it's not stress at all.

From the Christian point of view, depending on what sort of 'mental problem' that the person is going through, this may be classified as possessed by devil and the person is undergoing 'spiritual warfare'. This can be denounced and the person can be 'cured'.
In our home town church, we have a church member who can see 'ghosts'. He shared a lot of those spooky cases that he has gone through. He is now a very good and devoted Christian.

from gnostic point of view such things are caused by the multiple egos, which resides in our subconsious lunar psyche.
as our awareness decrease egos can manifest on us easily.
life is a battle between the conscious (solar, light) and subconsious (lunar, darkness)
egos are consist of anger, hatred, laziness etc. when they are intensified we face such mental illness stuff.
the devil stuffs? christians tend to believe it that people are kacau by this entities etc.

Oh well...where there is good, there is always evil. Can't do without each other. Until, that very Day arrives...of course.
Let's not get into real-life ghost stories...I went through enough and I don't want to relive those moments again.

Princess Diana was one of those self-mutilaters too.
Maybe its a method of release to deal with inner frustrations.
Went through enough? Thats some experience...

I think that one is more of a mental disorder rather than something brought on by exam stress le...
Although, it may happen...but I doubt so
About the ghosts, it haven't happen here so far, thank God. But I had a few run-in with err...ghostly incidents before back in M'sia.

LOL.
I think I better leave posting space for exam and exam stress.
Ghost stories can leave in Social and Entertainment.
Matter of fact, I better set it up now.
