This appears to be interesting http://www.kakiseni.com/events/theatre/Nzk3Ng.html
I guess it's always good to have a look and re-examine our history, especially in times like these when the notion of our national identity appears muddier than ever.
You are cordially invited to :
Baling (membaling)
a performance tour to colleges, universities and futsal centres
15 - 24 January 2006
Originally performed to critical acclaim as part of Five Arts Centre's
Directors' Workshop 5 in June last year, Baling (membaling) is a
docu-performance that re-presents some of the voices and experiences
of pre-independence Malaya.
Recollections of the 1955 Baling peace talks by journalist and
activist Said Zahari are interspersed with text from key participants
at the actual talks - then chief minister Tunku Abdul Rahman and Chin
Peng, secretary-general of the Communist Party of Malaya. The 'tools'
of British colonialism - arms and propaganda - are also explored, as
well as more personal experiences of the Emergency, researched from
the performers' families and friends.
Featuring a multi-disciplinary cast that includes visual artist Chang
Yoong Chia, graphic designer Fahmi Reza & filmmaker Imri Nasution.
Directed by Mark Teh and produced by Wong Tay Sy.
