i think hlovate is different from other novelis that i knew.
the story, the language, the message that comes with it, it's totally different from others.

the story is informative, less lovey dovey things,it is inspiring in terms of living a life.how to solve problems fronted by the characters and all stuff.
i can't really tell u about this.u need to read them, then only u know it.
but trust me.it will leave a big impact in ur life.

i read one of her/his (hlovate never tells the real truth about her/his life)
book which entitled Rooftop Rant.and guess what?
it inspired me to do the SPM examination until i passed it with flying colours !

u can try this blog as a warm up.

Five For Fighting - Superman (It's Not Easy) Lyrics

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me

I'm more than a bird:I'm more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It's not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I'll never see

It may sound absurd:but don't be naive
Even Heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed:but won't you conceed
Even Heroes have the right to dream
It's not easy to be me

Up, up and away:away from me
It's all right:You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy or anything:

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet
Looking for special things inside of me

It's not easy to be me.

i think this song suit me the best at this very moment.the moment full of uncertainties in life.need to make choices on which path to walk on in life.my head going to blow when thinking about this sorts of things.
so, when i listen to this song, it comfort me and calm me down.i like the lyrics, it is just like me. i am now, searching the better part of myself. trying hardly to build up my confidence so that i can face the obstacles awaited in the future.
and finally,it's not easy to be me.indeed. :)

Movie: How to Train Your Dragon.

Have you guys watched this movie? I watched it today and this movie completely changed the way I view myself. I learnt that no matter how lame a person is, he/she is always bestowed with other gifts. As long as you believe in yourself, others' rotten opinions about you does not matter. Not forgetting the cool graphics and excellent storyline, as well as doing a good job in manipulating viewers emotion.

Song: No boundaries - Kris Allen/Adam Lambert.

This song always inspire me when I feel down, depressed and unmotivated. Delving myself in it made me realise that no matter how much I long I stay in the shady part of life, nothing will change. It is myself who should initiate the change.

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can

You can go higher, you can go deeper
There are no boundaries above and beneath you
Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you and your dreams

With every step you climb another mountain
Every breath it's harder to believe

Yeah! There are no boundaries
There are no boundaries!

yeah this song is really nice
inspired me alot ..
so i think there's no boundaries for me to get the mara scholarship..
if i work for it ! yeah !

I find this song very inspirational. What do you guys think?

Unstoppable - Rascal Flatts

So, so you made a lot of mistakes
Walked down the road a little sideways
Cracked a brick when you hit the wall
Yeah, so you didn't do the best
It pulled you down faster than a sunset
Hey it happens to us all
When the cold hard rain just won't quit
And you can't see your way out of it

You find your faith has been lost and shaken
Here's your chance and it's worth taking
Get on your knees and dig down deep
You can do what you think is impossible
Keep on believing, don't give in
You've got the strength, to raise the wind
Remember what one dream can do
You are unstoppable

You, you can weather any storm
Don't you know that you were born to win
Oh you find a helping hand when you need it most
A lighthouse shining on the coast that never goes dim
When your back's against the wall
When you stumble and you fall

You find your faith has been lost and shaken
Here's your chance and it's worth taking
Get on your knees and dig down deep
You can do what you think is impossible
Keep on believing, don't give in
You've got the strength to raise the wind
Remember what one dream can do
You are unstoppable

Like a river keeps on rolling
Like a north wind blowing
Don't it feel good knowing
Yeah

You find your faith has been lost and shaken
You take back what's been taken
Get on your knees and dig down deep
You can do what you think is impossible
Keep on believing, don't give in
You've got the strength, to raise the win
Remember what one dream can do
You are unstoppable

Yes you you are unstoppable
So you made a lot of mistakes
But you got back out into the game
You you are unstoppable

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

a short Victorian poem by the English poet William Ernest Henley.....HEHEHE
the last part of the poem is made popular in the movie Invictus by Clint Eastwood.

A poem!
By Emily Dickinson (:

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

I live by it =)

I find The Work of Byron Katie empowering.

Here are some of her quotes :

"I'm a lover of reality.
When I argue with What Is, I lose,
but only 100% of the time."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The teacher you need
is the person you're living with."

~ Byron Katie ~

"It's not your job to like me
- it's mine."

~ Byron Katie ~

"I am the perpretor of my suffering
- but only all of it."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Do you want to meet the love of your life?
Look in the mirror."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The mind's job is to validate what it thinks."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Placing the blame or judgment on someone else
leaves you powerless to change your experience.
T aking responsability for your beliefs and judgments
gives you the power to change them."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The voice within is what I'm married to.
All marriage is a metaphor for that marriage.
My lover is the place inside me where an honest yes and no come from.
That's my true partner. It's always there.
And to tell you yes when my integrity says no is to divorce that partner.

~ Byron Katie ~

"An uncomfortable feeling is not an enemy.
It’s a gift that says, "Get honest; inquire."
We reach out for alcohol, or television, or credit cards,
so we can focus out there and not have to look at the feeling.
And that's as it should be, because in our innocence we haven't known how.
So now what we can do is reach out for a paper and a pencil,
write thought down, and investigate."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Nothing can cost you someone you love.
The only thing that can cost you your husband is if you believe a thought.
That's how you move away from him.
That's how the marriage ends.
You are one with your husband until you believe the thought
that he should look a certain way, he should give you something,
he should be something other than what he is.
That's how you divorce him.
Right then and there you have lost your marriage.

~ Byron Katie ~

"So, how do you get back to heaven?
To begin with, just notice the thoughts that take you away from it.
You don't have to believe everything your thoughts tell you.
Just become familiar with the particular thoughts you use
to deprive yourself of happiness.
It may seem strange at first to get to know yourself in this way,
but becoming familiar with your stressful thoughts
will show you the way home to everything you need."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The Work always leaves you with less of a story.
Who would you be without your story?
You never know until you inquire.
There is no story that is you or that leads to you.
Every story leads away from you.
Turn it around; undo it.
You are what exists before all stories.
You are what remains when the story is understood. "

~ Byron Katie ~

"You move totally away from reality
when you believe that there is a legitimate reason to suffer."

~ Byron Katie ~

"You don't get to vote on what is.
Have you noticed?"

~ Byron Katie ~

"The world is nothing but my perception of it.
I see only through myself.
I hear only through the filter of my story."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The world is perfect.
As you question your mind, this becomes more and more obvious.
Mind changes, and as a result, the world changes.
A clear mind heals everything that needs to be healed.
It can never be fooled into believing that there is one speck out of order."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Thoughts are just what is.
They appear. They're innocent. They're not personal.
They're like the breeze or the leaves on the trees or the raindrops falling.
Thoughts arise like that, and we can make friends with them.
Would you argue with a raindrop?"

~ Byron Katie ~

"I've heard people say that they cling to their painful thoughts
because they're afraid that without them they wouldn't be activists for peace.
“If I feel peaceful,” they say, “why would I bother taking action at all?”
My answer is “Because that's what love does.”
To think that we need sadness or outrage
to motivate us to do what's right is insane.
As if the clearer and happier you get, the less kind you become.
As if when someone finds freedom, she just sits around all day
with drool running down her chin.
My experience is the opposite.

Love is action."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Personalities don't love.
They want something."

~ Byron Katie ~

"Would you rather be right or free?"

~ Byron Katie ~

"The only time we suffer
is when we believe a thought that argues with what is.
When the mind is perfectly clear, what is is what we want."

~ Byron Katie ~

"The end of suffering happens in this very moment,
whether you're watching a terrorist attack or doing the dishes.
And compassion begins at home.
Because I don't believe my thoughts, sadness can't exist.
That's how I can go to the depths of anyone's suffering,
if they invite me, and take them by the hand and walk them out of it into the sunlight of reality.
I've taken that walk myself."

~ Byron Katie ~

"All sadness is a tantrum."

~ Byron Katie ~

"A teacher of fear can’t bring peace on Earth.
We have been trying to do it that way for thousands of years.
The person who turns inner violence around,
the person who finds peace inside and lives it,
is the one who teaches what true peace is.
We are waiting for just one teacher.
You’re the one."

~ Byron Katie ~

And if you're really interested in her, I suggest you to watch some of her videos on "The Work".

"The Work of Byron Katie is a way of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause all the fear and suffering in the world. Experience the happiness of undoing those thoughts through The Work, and allow your mind to return to its true, awakened, peaceful, creative nature."

http://www.thework.com/index.php

"I discovered that when I believed my thoughts, I suffered, but that when I didn't believe them, I didn't suffer, and that this is true for every human being. Freedom is as simple as that. I found that suffering is optional. I found a joy within me that has never disappeared, not for a single moment. That joy is in everyone, always." — Byron Katie

heyz, this isnt actually an inspirational book, its a self-help book specially written for teenagers (which means its totally not boring! trust me!)

its the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers by Sean Covey. Anyone read that before? I think it's really helpful, i'm still halfway through the book though :D

This is great thread! Ok following tomodachi's inspirational book i think its appropriate for me to list few books and music down that inspires me all this time(i promise it won't be boring) :

1. The secret (rhonda bryne) this book and movie literally changed my life. But its different take for different people.

2. Think and Grow rich (napolean hill) this is the first book that inspires me to achieve awesomeness to a whole new level! lol at least that's what i think.

3.Il Divo & Celine Dion "I believe in you" i'm hearing it every single day :D truly amazing song. (translation of song here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070903194307AAn98Bi )

Anyways, hope to see more inspirational books, movies and quotations being listed here and i end it with this exceptional quote :

JDrama: Ichi Rittoru no Namida (One Litre of Tears) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichi_Rittoru_no_Namida)

It's a real life story. I think there is a book of the same name as well, but it's actually the diary of the main character depicted in the series.

Live your life to the fullest and never give up!
(Very weird that this is coming from me seeing as how I cope with my own life *pointing at his sig*).
