What the point of this, more people should join anime SIG???
Just kidding!!
I think learning a new language is interesting and fun. It allows you to understand a culture better through you own perspective if you learn its language. For example if you read a book that is translated to English, you are reading from the translator?s perspective, the real meaning maybe lost when the book is translated. Same go for foreign language movie with subtitle.
Hope more people will learn another language, it is a good to equip yourself with another language!!
let's learn C++ language!! you can understand the value of programs from the programmers' point of view .. like why the heck windows crashes all the time ... yay yay yatta yatta *dance dance dance* ... wheeee ....

Why do vous thinkz so?
i think japanese is kinda hard for the speaking part coz they speak really fast. hard to catch their articulations

it's like when we were in standard three and tried to understand what macgyver was talking in TV .. now I'm sure some of us can listen to spoken english so well ... the same with any language ... if we don't know the language, no matter how slow the foreigners speak, we won't catch what words they are uttering .. I only started learning japanese one year ago but I think I already can understand some anime dialogues without the subtitles ...
まあ、日本語は難しそうだけです。勉強すればきっとやさしくなると思いますよ。
"Well, japanese only looks difficult. I think if you learn it, it will surely become easy."

I think Japanese will be easier to learn if you have already known Mandarin as most of the Japanese Kanji is same as Mandarin.
It will be better if you know Tamil too as its grammer is the same as Tamil. So if you know Tamil you can master it faster too (I think  ...)
After all, practice makes perfect ... there is no short cut in learning languages.
By the way, i hope someone really looks into the link ...
It seems that the popularity of Msians who know Japanese are not that many compared to other countries, ability of speaking/communicating in Japanese will be a good asset in the future 8)

aiyah... so many languages to take up. Uhmm... do Japanese borrow terms and words from other languages as well? IS it a derived language, since it shares the same as that of Mandarin?
