Hello,
This is a question for the developers.
Is it possible to add statistics to ReMag? And since ReCom uses php, is it possible to incorporate some of ReCom's stats for ReMag instead of using some external meter?
If we could, then maybe we would be able to know how successful ReMag is actually.
data for ReCom statistic are captured by a module in phpNuke but considering ReMag is not part of ReCom's phpNuke, we can't use the module to capture statistic for ReMag .. there are two options if we want a statistic page for ReMag:
1) integrate ReMag into phpNuke
this is easy to do but we can't use the short URL http://remag.recom.org/ anymore .. it has to be http://recom.homelinux.org:8000/~recom/modules.php?name=ReMag
2) create a script to capture statistic just for remag
this can be done but unfortunately it's very difficult .. you have to capture all single visitor viewing remag, store his/her attributes from his IP to the name of his browser (this is the difficult part) and then when queried, present all the data in a presentable format (also difficult) ... i.e you can't just write a line of code to tell the server "hey, save this visitor's data" and another line of code "hey present me these data in a nice table" .. we have to define what to save, where to save, how to present, create the nice table ourselves, do the computations here and there etc etc ... it's not an easy task ...
of course there is an option of using external meter .. it won't look 'cool' but it will save us some trouble ...

one of the things that I always want to do is to do is designing the hardcopy of Remag. I knew I can do this but still I have very little room to breath.
if we have someone who do the design, maybe we could see how many people downloading the hardcopy. (that way, we could have some idea how we're doing on the online version.).
Btw, I like the idea of having the remag incorporated into phpNuke to get the statistics, and the URL remag.recom.org can always be routed to the original link in the PHPNuke site (just like Recom's page).

actually nope .. bachok (or perhaps you) has tried it before and seemed like we cannot assign a DNS to a query URL (URLs with ? & = ) .. I mentioned the long URL with this in mind ...

can we add a counter to the remag page... so that we can know how many people read the ReMag.... and over time, can see, is there an increasing number of people reading it.?

Fully support the idea of DecentMerson, even a simple counter would be good.
