Greetings! I'm a current Form 5 student and I've just finished my SPM Trials 2010. am i eligible for any scholarships available to Singapore for pre-university studies? I've heard that we can use our forecast results or trials results to apply for a scholarship to study in Singapore.

If yes, could i have the link to the website and tips on how to apply and earn the scholarship?

thanks in advance for your help yo!!

Google "ASEAN Scholarship".

Google "Singapore Polytechnics" as well.

I think you've missed the boat for ASEAN

You still have another shot at the ASEAN scholarships after your STPM/A-levels. There are other scholarships, but they are awfully hard to get. The ASEAN scholarship will be sufficient all purposes.

I'm not a recipient of that scholarship, so I can't say much. So far, all the scholarship holders I've met in Singapore had perfect results in their exams. You could search for more comprehensive information in some other thread, I believe there's one just for the ASEAN scholarship in this forum.

there are ASEAN undergrad scholarships available (for courses excluding medicine and a few other popular choices). not exactly sure how they process it for malaysians who come to singapore directly into uni - but i know for malaysians who apply via singapore A levels results, you apply for ASEAN undergrad simultaneously when you apply to NUS/NTU/SMU.

ASEAN scholarship basically has entry for malaysians for sec 1, sec 3 (form 4 equivalent), JC1 and first year uni.

yeap I've miss the chance to apply for ASEAN this year.. apparently i've phone up s'pore's MOE and they say i can try that scholarship next year. I'm planning to enroll to one of the junior colleges in S'pore next year, and try to earn that scholarship when i'm studying there.. is that applicable??

by the way.... i'm just wondering, is it advisable to study A-levels in Singapore or Malaysia private colleges? i'm looking at the fees structure, grands available, networks, security and the path we have after a-levels. i heard we have more opportunities in s'pore compared to m'sia, but i have no idea WHAT kind of opportunities they meant. s'pore has a very competitive environment, so how can we equip ourselves in order to cope with this? apparently i'll choose singapore to study a-levels, and i got a lot of negative feedback for that. and i've got the scholarship from sunway college this year (2010) which the had offered me the highest quantum of scholarship.
what are the paths available after studying in s'pore for a-levels? how bout m'sia?
