INTERNATIONAL FULBRIGHT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING MALAYSIAN STUDENTS
Application deadline: June 03, 2011
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State sponsors the International Fulbright Science and Technology Award (Fulbright S&T) for outstanding foreign students. Grantees will be enrolled for Ph.D study at top U.S. universities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) beginning in fall 2012 for academic year 2012-2013.


Fulbright S&T is designed to be the most prestigious international scholarship in STEM focused fields and to demonstrate United States, commitment to attracting and supporting future researches and leaders of scientific study at U.S. institutions. Awards will be granted for candidates who demonstrate high aptitude and potential for innovation in specific fields.


The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award is a worldwide competition for foreign students who seek to carry out Ph.D study in eligible fields.


The 18 eligible fields are :

? Aeronautics and Aeronautical Engineering
? Agriculture (theoretical or research-based focus only)
? Astronomy/planetary sciences
? Biology
? Biomedical Engineering
? Chemistry
? Computer Sciences/Engineering
? Energy
? Engineering (aerospace, electrical, chemical, civil, industrial, mechanical, ocean, and petroleum)
? Environmental Science/Engineering ( theoretical or science research-based focus only)
? Geology/Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
? Information Sciences and Systems (engineering focus only)
? Materials Science/Engineering
? Mathematics
? Neurosciences
? Oceanography
? Physics
? Public Health (biostatistics or epidemiology)

Please note that this award is for applicants wishing to pursue theoretical and research-based study in STEM areas. Policy or social science research such as, environmental or health management, energy policy, research pertaining to analysis of health systems, etc., will not be considered.

FULBRIGHT MALAYSIAN GRADUATE STUDY AND RESEARCH PROGRAM
Application deadline: August 10, 2011
The Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) is pleased to announce its annual competition for grants under the Fulbright Program for graduate level study (Masters or Ph.D. degrees) and research in the United States for 2012-2013 academicyear. Grants under the Malaysian Fulbright student program will be administered as either degree or non-degree grants (Dissertation Research), depending on whether the applicant is seeking to complete coursework or research toward his/her degree program at a Malaysian university or is seeking to obtain a degree from an American institution.

FULBRIGHT MALAYSIAN PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM Application deadline: September 09, 2011
The Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) invites applications for grants under the Professional Exchange Program available during the 2012 / 2013 academic year (August to June).
The Purpose of the grant is to enable mid-career Malaysian professionals in the public or private sectors to broaden their experiences through consultation, internship, participation in seminars, workshops and other professional enrichment programs at relevant organizations in the United States for periods of three to six months. These grants are meant for practitioners rather than scholars; administrators, managers of organizations / associations / services, journalist, and lawyers are encouraged to apply for these grants.

2012-2013 FULBRIGHT MALAYSIAN SCHOLAR PROGRAM
Application deadline: September 09, 2011

Application are invited from the qualified Malaysian scholars to undertake a 3-6 months of research / lecturing at the American universities during the 2012/2013 academic year (August through June).
The Malaysian Fulbright Scholar Program provides opportunities for Malaysian academics to develop or update their research through interaction with distinguished counterparts in the United States. By providing a mechanism and support for meeting and interacting with the best of American scholars, the program seeks to promote dialogue on subjects of mutual interest to Malaysia and the United States.
While these grants are typically researched focused, applicants who are prepared to add a lecturing component to their proposals are particularly encouraged to apply. Further, all grantees will be asked to develop strategies for sharing Malaysian culture with social, civic and other groups while in the United States.

2012-2013 HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
(MID-CAREER TRAINING IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)
Application deadline: September 06, 2011

We are pleased to announce the competition for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program. The Hubert. H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a Fulbright Program that brings accomplished mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential to the United States for a year of graduate level non degree academic coursework and professional development activities. By providing future leaders and policy makers with experience in U.S. society, culture, and professional fields, the program provides a basis for lasting, productive ties between Americans and their professional counterparts overseas. For the 2012 academic year, MACEE will recruit up to three (3) outstanding candidates.

A Fellow?s professional-development plan may include professional visits, conferences, and a professional affiliation (work attachment) which must be at least six weeks in duration. Early in the academic year, each Fellow develops, with assistance from the local campus coordinator and faculty advisors, a plan for professional activities carefully geared to the Fellow?s need for relevant, practical professional experiences.

Fellowships are granted competitively in the following fields:

1. agricultural development/agricultural economics,
2. communications/journalism,
3. economic development/finance and banking,
4. educational administration, planning and policy,
5. HIV/AIDS policy and prevention,
6. human resource management,
7. law and human rights,
8. natural resources and environmental management,
9. public health policy and management,
10. public policy analysis and public administration,
11. substance abuse education, treatment and prevention,
12. teaching of English as a foreign language,
13. technology policy and management,
14. trafficking in persons, policy and prevention,
15. urban and regional planning

The university programs do not address themselves to the scientific of technical aspects of these fields, but rather to the broad policy-making and problem-solving issues. Emphasis is placed on practical knowledge that will be directly useful to fellows upon return to their countries.
