But there were no real evidence still... I'm doubtful when world papers claimed that it's not (then qualify that there's no real evidence), but then why would they test a nuclear bomb so conspiciously?

South Korea's Yonhap news agency is reporting a huge explosion shook North Korea's northernmost province on Thursday producing a mushroom cloud over 4 kilometers (two miles) wide.
The blast coincided with the anniversary of North Korea's founding on Sepember 9 when various military activities are staged.
The U.S. official said the cloud could be the result of a forest fire.
LOL at forest fire!!! HAHAHAHAH

An above-ground nuclear test would leave a radioactive fallout "signature" that would be detectable, even at great distances over time. So far, there haven't been any reports of this, or at least none that have been made public.

yeah.. but i'm pretty sure a forest fire couldn't make a 4 km wide mushroom cloud. :P

Maybe they developed something that the rest of the world doesn't know yet? Who say they have to re-make an ancient bomb invented in the 40s?

A North Korean official quoted as saying that the explosion was a "deliberate blast during work on a hydro-electric dam "

US is forcing China to talk to them now. US wouldn't attack North Korea since it has no oil fields there. Imagine the how would US react if some middle east country were to declare that instead or N Korea.
