US Bound Student - Specialised application form.

- Is there any advantages in using the specialised application form over the common form when appliying to the universities?

- May I know, in general, how to get the application form? Do I need to apply through mail or will e-mail do?

- How long does it take for them to post me the application form?There is less than 3 months to the dateline of the appplication, is it still possible for me to get them?

- I'm planning to apply to these universities, the first 4 through INTEC, the rest by myself. Please state which Unis require the applicants to apply using the Specialised application form:

Through INTEC - MIT, Cornell, Wisconsin, Purdue.

By Myself - Stanford.

i think there's another forum dedicated to tis: us universities application tips for atu11. so i think u better head there the next time.

but i shall juz answer ur questions k.
1. there are no advantages watsoever. it's guaranteed by the universities anyway. for some universities, the common application IS the only form to use. but if u can get ur hands on the university's application, y use the common application? to save trouble? i used the common application for brandeis coz tads all they haf but i used yale's original application...

2. my goodness! it's already september u know. i requested for the forms so much earlier. it takes them quite long to send the application to malaysia. u can request for the applications through the universities' website. if not, u can always fill in your application electronically. it's not email though. make sure there's nothing wrong before u submit it electronically. my advice is to request for the forms, but try to see the forms electronically to see how it's like. it's a matter of preference actually. i prefer to fill my forms by hand.

3. most of us (all of us maybe) use express delivery services like dhl, ups etc...it takes at max 5 working days but it costs a bomb...around rm70 for dhl...if u worry u might not get the forms in time, then use the electronic form. save u the sendin cost too.

4. first 4 thru INTEC? tad means u r one of those who got an extra uni izzit? find out urself which unis haf the common application. wad's the internet for? on the common application form is indicated which unis use the forms.
