can anyone help me with this? i need ur ideas

Mesra Airlines is conducting a package trip for at mosta hundred passengers per flight. If one hundred seats are taken each of the passengers have to pay RM200.For eevry seat that is not taken therest of the passengers will have to subsidise an extra RM 4.00 each.

Determine the maximum income can be generated from this package. Find out the number of seats that are not taken at this maximum point.

doesn't look like a math project to me. But,

M = 200x + 4x(100-x)

the rest should be typical calc.

Man, I miss this kind of problem.

true... it has been a while for me as well :) maybe there should be a topic, or even a SIG for ppl to post some math problems... for good old times sake, hahaha... but hmm, that would encourage ppl not doing their homework and take the easy way out ay? hehehe...

i meant the relative simplicity of the problem. nowadays, the only problems that I meet are weird ones. miss the ability to solve a problem quickly.

err thats what i meant :) simple straightforward algebra is definitely more fun than the ones that involve matrices, vectors dan yg sekutu dgnnyer :)
