Heyyy.. im new in Recom. I've just finished my one year matriculation programme. Right now i have a conflict that i would like to share with you guys and hope to get some opinions and suggestions.

Ever since young my passion has always been with environment. And by judging on nowadays rapid globalisation and modenisation, all sorts of pollutions have emerged in our life and nature like forest, has been destroyed to make way for domestic houses; magnificent limestone hills have been destroyed for quarries. Whenever all these news regarding harm on our mother earth really hurt me a lot. I always wonder what i can do to heal the situation.

I've been doing a lot of research too in all the universities of Malaysia whether did any of them offer environment-related course. But i am still very clueless and doubtful whether is the courses offered is what i want. Though most of the skeptics will say that Malaysia is not very famous in such courses compared to the foreign countries and job opportunities are very low in Malaysia, but i do not care as this time i am very determine for what i want.

So to all the senior out there, do you guys have any suggestion for environment-related courses which involve conservation and preservation? and can you give an insight on what do we study in that course?

thx in advance =)

u could do environmental engineering but not sure which uni offer this course.Or u can try applying to foreign unis to do environmental related courses using matric results. Some unis do recognise local matriculation.eg Manchester and American unis.

You could start with a general degree like Chemical Engineering and take courses in environmental remediation I guess (that was my original plan)

Environmental engineering has a civil eng side and a chem eng side to it. The civil side would try to design structures which would have a min effect on the environment while the chem eng side would try to fix problems related to the environment like eutrophication, contamination of underwater water sources, oil slicks et cetera through applications of chemical technologies.

All the best with your search!
