We have been informed that PILN will be sending students to countries like Russia, Czech Republic and India (They didn't mention about Indonesia right? Thank god) for medicine. Rumours say that these 3 countries are producing second-class doctors who always get scold during their housemanship (Again, some say India is good anyway...but never heard of someone saying Russia is OKAY). Is it true? And if you are offered one of these countries, will you accept it?

Don't believe rumours like that. At the end of the day, you'd still graduate as a doctor. True, the place you go determines your quality, but you can't simply judge a person based on where they graduated from.

Many people tend to place graduates from UK or US or some other more reputable countries as being 'first-class' doctors. That's not necessarily true.

Although generally UK and US produces well-recognised doctors, you should not sideline other countries. Many there work hard and study well. It is true that people have many bad comments about Russian medical graduates, but among the bad apples, you'll always find some that are good.

I know many people who are going to graduate as doctors from Czech and India, and I would believe that they would serve to their best ability. Medicine is a constantly growing field. There's no saying that just because you learnt lesser in uni, you'll be a lousier doctor. If you persevere and continue to learn more as you progress in the field, you can stand proud among others. :)

Well, JPA is sending students to other countries also, but they're twinning programmes (IMU, PMC). I've heard pretty good stuff about India. =)
