Internet Freedom - Should there be limits?

Menteri Tenaga, Air dan Komunikasi, Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik, berkata MIMC yang sentiasa memantau laman web seumpama itu di negara ini, sedang menjalankan siasatan sekali gus mengenal pasti dalangnya.

?Kegiatan itu membabitkan ?orang gila? yang tidak bertanggungjawab dan bukannya menggambarkan keadaan keseluruhan masyarakat negara ini.

?Mereka ini sebenarnya tidak ada kerja dan sesetengahnya hanya untuk bersuka-suka tanpa memikirkan kesannya,? katanya.

Yesterday, national news agency Bernama quoted Water, Energy and Communications Minister Dr Lim Keng Yaik urging newspapers not to highlight the issue for fear of giving a wrong impression of Malaysia.

1. MSC was envisioned with a Bill of Guarantee ensuring ZERO CENSORSHIP of the internet. This, and the Jeff Ooi debacle is taking a step backwards.

2. Dr Lim apparently does not understand the meaning of transparency and accountability.

i dont think there shud be a limit for this.. like what had been happening to our local singer Siti Nurhaliza.. she was framed and she made some small matter into a big deal..
gosh.. it's only some rumours on internet..
IF those celebrities really wanna figure out what's right and wrong.. tell me what shud britney and all other super star do?
