Do you feel that you write better when you feel some sort of strong emotion? Do you find that the times when you are especially emotional give your writings that extra something? Maybe you don't even write unless you're feeling emotional? Share your opinions. :P

Personally, I just write whenever I feel like it, but I do feel that my writings have more of a purpose to them when I write about something that I feel strongly about, or when I write while I feel emotional. Otherwise it just feels...blah, for lack of a proper adjective.

There are two conditions for me to write:
1) I get a writing rush (which is really a moment of inspiration affected by emotional experiences such as talking to someone, watching a movie, etc so yeah I'm just like you xD) but this can backfire when I need to meet a very short deadline (think exams and other short-termed timed assignments)
2) There's something (book/paper/notepad/computer) for me to write on, because if there's none the moment of inspiration will just be lost...it needs to be recorded ASAP or I'll get lazy and it is forgotten.

LOL it seems like you get inspired pretty often, since you write so often on Recom/Remag and also your blogs... :D

Well I can't say that I've ever really experienced a shortage of materials. There's always something new for me to feel strongly about, it seems - and if I don't write about it, there's no other effective way for me to handle the emotion and I would simply explode.

I write whenever I want to. I tend to write better if I already have a fixed objective in mind, or a topic. It doesn't really matter if I'm emotional at the moment or not. The emotions just serve to fuel the direction in which the article will go. Normally, I'll only write when something sparks my interest, though. That tends to happen rather frequently, because I have a tendency to think a bit too much, and I let my imagination run wild. Which is why I journal. I seriously doubt many people would want to read most of what runs through my mind. :P
