Dear everyone,
None of us have heard from Jacob in 6 days. He had been contacting us by phone or email nearly every day since June. His g-mail account has not been accessed during this time. Last seen in Jerantut, Pahana District, Malaysia.
We are working with the US and German Embassies in Malaysia, and have escalated the case to a missing persons case.
We need your help.
Can social media be used to alert people who are traveling in Malaysia and may have seen Jacob or could be on the look out for him?
Do you have other ideas on how we might continue our search?
I've attached a photo that could be posted or circulated.
With a painful heart,
NANCY LUBEROFF & BRUCE BOEHM

UPDATE 2: Great news from the US Embassy and Jacob's family:
"Good news! Park rangers now say they've located his Taman Negara entry record and expect he will come out of the park by the 23rd. We'll continue to follow up."
UPDATE 1: (for original info, please scroll below). MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE NEED *VOLUNTEERS*; DETAILS ARE LISTED IN *ITEMS 3 AND 4*.
1. SUMMARY of Jacob's travels, travel habits, etc.:
8/9-10 - from Thailand to Malaysia
Most recently - Kuala Terrenganu, Kuantan, and Jerantut
8/23 - scheduled flight from Kuala Lumpur
- cheap hostels
- public bus mainly
- street food
- traveling alone
- grey-blue large REI daypack
- wears Chaco sandals every day
- uses mainly cash (although hasn't accessed his bank account for over a week)
- no electronic records of Jacob since Saturday, 8/14
- Jacob's family is working with the US and German Consulates, Congressman Price's office, and Stanford University
2. WHAT'S BEEN DONE HERE:
A group of about 10 people is working on coordinating our part of the search. We are collecting local contacts in and around Jerantut - places you all have been graciously suggesting on the event wall.
Right now, we're setting up a system to organize all this information so that we can get it to Jacob's family, and turn this social media awareness into effective searching.
3. *WE NEED VOLUNTEERS*:
Specifically, we need people willing to set aside time in the next couple days, or ASAP, to call our consolidated list of contacts. If you are willing to spend the time, energy, and money to make these international calls, PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP, with "Jacob Boehm calling volunteer" in the Subject headline, at jkusnadi@<hidden>. *PLEASE NOTE IF YOU SPEAK MALAY.*
4. *OTHER VOLUNTEERING*:
You can also help us find additional places to contact. We have a list of hotels and hospitals based on the internet and Jacob's guidebook, but we still need help finding contact information for schools, churches, jails, and other community organizations. Please send contact lists with phones, faxes, or emails to sadie.struss@<hidden>.

Jacob Boehm has just been located in Malaysia. He contacted us this morning from Taman Negara National Park using one of the park's specialized 2 way radios and said he was safe, that "it was a long story? and that he would call us when he gets out of the park in a few days. We are beyond relieved and happy that he is safe.
