In this TNS Global Reputation Study 2005, 41 countries are being studied, and the results are just out a couple of days ago.

TNS is the world largest custom research group in the world, with its HQ in UK.

For this study, it has surveyed 36,000 people throughout the world, and the output of it is just published.

In terms of ranking of Business Location, Malaysia ranked 7th, behind US, Aus, Ire, Sg, Denmark, South Africa. NZ, Canada and India filled out the remaining 3 places in the top 10.

In the health service ranking, Malaysia ranked 2nd, behind Singapore. Belgium, Finland and Australia filled up the other top 5 spots.

In terms of reputation of political parties, Malaysia again ranked 2nd behind Singapore. Denmark, South Africa and Thailand are the next 3 places.

In terms of reputation of our supermarkets, we ranked 19th.

In terms of reputation of primary banks, we ranked 11th, behind Denmark, US, South Africa, Norway, Estonia, Germany, Singapore,Canada, NZ, Finland.

In terms of telephone provider, we ranked 5th, behind Singapore, South Africa, Ireland, Estonia.

In terms of mail service, we ranked 12th, behind Aus, Singapore, US, Denmark, HK, Israel, NZ, Netherlands, Estonia, Ireland and Taiwan.

So, in overall, I would say that we ranked decently well, although there is still quite some room to improve. Any comments from fellow ReComers?

Chenchow, what you forgot to mention is, this is more of a survey from the country on population regarding the services they get in their own country.

Indonesia ranked higher then JApan in health services. Why? Because Japanese ar emore demanding and feel that the current state of their health services is not the best, while people in Indonesia simply would take any help they could get and are happy.

I think the same scenario could be applied to countries like Malaysia and Thailand whom both ranked higher then many Developed countries.

The Survey is not comparing the facilities between the listed countries and saying who has the highest Quality, etc. But it's more of a surve about the People who use the services in their own respective country.

Does this equal to the level of satisfactory upon the public service from the government or the level of exposure to the world? Hmm...
