a Kedahan, Lee Guan Hooi has formulated a supposedly easy way to learn Jawi for any Jawi illiterate. i think this is kinda cool... we need more muhibbah stories like this... personally my knowledge of jawi consists of only 'alif' and 'ba'...

actually, another reason i'm posting this story is to highlight the horrible writing in the above report. seriously, who the hell wrote that stuff?
a few examples:
Out of his love for "jawi", Lee Guan Hooi formulates his own method...
formulated!
Today, the Kedah-born man said, nothing was more meaningful in life after he became the first Malaysian Chinese who created the "Rumi Practitioner Jawi Friendly Method".
really? when can i be the second? downright clumsy sentence. "who created" should be "to create".
In addition, he sought guidance from stacks of books in his office on Jawi including those published by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) and subscribed the Jawi newspapers...
subscribed to!!!
Lee, who holds the Special Communications Certificate from Universiti Sains Malaysia, said his interest in Jawi came when he began his service in Kelantan in 1978.
his interest "came"? of all the verbs available you chose to use "came"?
sorry, i think that bernama's reports are generally pretty well written but this was just bad.
