I think maybe we can have a pool which is related to some current issues as this will not only get more to read the news related, it also may help in getting more to focus on a certain issue/topic.

"Do you love Chen Chow? ( )Yes ( )No"

ok just j/k

How about some crude provocative polls? Polls that comes with thread, like:
"Which education system is better? US US DE JP AU MY SG CA TW CN etc?"
or
"What is the 'next big thing' in MY? IT Bio Nano RFID MyKAD hoovercraft rocket etc etc etc??"
or
"Which is the best university for Malaysian students? UM U*M UTAR NUS NTU Cornell Oxbridge Tokyo ChingHwa UT Melbourne Stanford etc etc etc etc etc "
...
you know, something that doesn't really have a definite answer so that we can all dig out the pros and cons after voting?

May I suggest we have a weekly or biweekly poll? I think it's a good way to see what our members think. And like Schye said, it should be related to current issues or sth like that. It could very well be something from the forums. (We can even publish these polls in our newspaper column later!)

Eg. What do you think about tuition classes?
a) Waste of money - self study is enough
b) Nothing wrong with it! It really helps!
c) It really helps because school teachers are not doing as well as
tuition teachers.
d) Unnecessary - it's all a scheme!!
e) Students go for tuition because most their friends do so and they
don't want to be left behind.

Eg. How do you think we should deal with forum topics?
a) Let people post as many new threads as they desire - no
restrictions whatsoever
b) Limit forum topics so that we have more focused, relevant and
educational issues to discuss
c) Allow new thread posting freedom but make sure there are more
current/real issues than entertainment forums

thanks silverblue for both the suggestions.

I have added both already. The first one at its place- the thread on tuition. The other one at the thread on how to improve the website.
