Yes, I think your observation matches with what a lot of Recommers see and discussed here.

I can't really tell what's happening back home since I haven't been back for years. But based on the news and the discussion here, it seems clear that Malaysians are on the verge of 'values' bankruptcy.

It's certainly the by-product of the KL-led development, which 'shopping' lifestyle in the wake of various shopping complex and Megamalls, and materialistic achievement, make Malaysians feel that they should prioritize money and things, and slowly throwing away our nice values into garbage can.

It's certainly a sick thing and need to be fixed by the people themselves.

If Malaysia is an engine, it needs quite a bit of overhaul.
