Tertiary Education...MMU or Uniten?

I will be starting my degree course soon in MMU. However, i've had cold feet of sorts when dealing with the matter of tertiary education. People have said dat Uniten is better than MMU. I had the opportunity to apply for both universities but i decided to stick with MMU as i had a more positive opinion of it compared to UNiten. From the perspective of teaching staff, credit hours and international recognition, can someone please answer my request?

hey redhuss.... i also got offers from uniten & mmu... but i choose mmu... actually it depends on what course do you intend to take..... For me, i wanna study B.Eng in Electronics (Telecommunication)... So, of course MMU is the better choice as Telekom is its parent company... If u prefer something about power, Uniten is the better choice.... my advice is.................JOIN MMU!!! :)

p/s are you a bumi or non-bumi? just wanna know.....

jbboy88, tanx for ur feedback. i'm a non bumi actually. why so curious? i'll be doing a BEng in Electronics too...but mine is the more general degree. i'll come out without specialization. for example,u are gonna specialize in telecommunications while i am not gonna specialize in anything. i plan to save that for my masters when i truly know what i wanna do. just curious....how did u do in spm? i did moderately okay. wht bout u?

err...SPM? not so good, not so bad.... 'cukup-cukup makan'..... :lol: actually i got 8A's only.... Hey, MMU is quite cool.... they have fast internet connection.... :D Hotspots too...... :D btw, the hostel got 500 places only right? hmm...slim chance....

People have said dat Uniten is better than MMU.

Go to Lowyat.Net forums.
I found at least two big happy families there just within a short while and they are among the most active folks.
Lowyat seems to be heavily populated by MMU folks!!
I found 'MMU June intake' and another is 'MMU Thread v12:in holiday mode'.
Hope this will help though heavily in favour of MMU. Can't find anything on Uniten yet.

basically..many companies recognize uniten as well. MMU is kinda more famous compared to Uniten, true. But Uniten is not all that bad.. I'm in Uniten right now. :wink: i heard from some seniors that most uniten students are likely to have a job before graduating.

I was from MMU doing Financial Engineering...my younger brother currently in UNITEN.

My opinion, both are good, even they are still young but a lot better i think than their elder brother of IPTAs (hehe...just my opinion).

Engineering...MMU quite recognized, even they have a very good link with Engin. Society of Malaysia (i'm not sure their name). Even, they have INTEL and motorola lab here. Quite a number of foreign companies doing joint research with MMU.

Creative Multimedia...i think MMU is the best, if not, maybe second after LKW in Malaysia. Even some advertisers in graphic field, put in the advert, "MMU grad is preferred" for the position in a company.They also quite flexible and attract many good foreign lecturers too. So, quite good, ha?

HEY IJI. ur reply really helped me. haha. i was really interested in BIT in Multimedia Systems @<hidden> MMU Cyberjaya. lol.

but i still wanna know.. taking up something more technical like BIT in Security Technology, will it offer a better and wider job prospect? i'm really confused between all the different IT courses offered by different IPTSes. i cant find anyone who is doing any of the courses.. =(
