if someone is really into studying alevel, which should him choose? taylors or help? i m talking abt the quality of the teacher, budget or any other thing are not concerned...thx
If u r talking about quality of lecturers, then Help would be a better choice, most of the lecturers were formerly from Taylor's. Their names and faces can be seen in the papers from time to time. Help is the only college that publishes its A-levels lecturers in malaysia.
besides, that the fees are slightly cheaper than taylor's..........If u r taking the sciences, the labs are one of the best in the country

it's funny that you dont have the initiative to go to these colleges and look for the counsellors for advice.
of course, the opinion from others like bush's is important... but the best way to find out is to see it yourself.

i agree.........however councellors are the last to be approached, they are the ones who are trying to market the services to u, thereby painting a false picture most of the time..........one should ask the students, past and present students of a particular lecturer...............

perhaps this would help - http://www.recom.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=34683&highlight=#34683
you could try searching for keywords or the forum listings first the next time instead of starting a new thread altogether..
Just thought I'd mention that whichever college you choose to do your A levels, it's not really that important; you'd be leaving the place in a year and a half anyway. More so if you're deliberating between the top few colleges around (taylors, sunway, help). Whether you do well for your A levels, it depends much more on your individual effort than your college lecturers and students around you.
Taylors or help? Whichever convenients you more, I would say. If you live in subang, just go to taylors.. they're more or less the same. The other thread has covered other practical reasons for your consideration..

its more towards a personal choice, i put lecturers as the top priority and honestly for me, if a lecturer is unable to impart the knowledge properly, it is unlikely u will be able to get the whole idea, there may be bits and pieces of it, but not the whole picture....this is very true for mathematical subjects, ie physics and maths........not many people can read the text or the notes and understand it fully, so this is where the teachers come in.
i am sure many of us have encountered this problem, there are some teachers who can't really answer the question that we ask, they tend to beat around the bush and end up giving no acceptable answers........
Yes, it would be more convinient to study and taylor's or sunway if u r living in subang or the surrounding areas

i think that aside from lecturers, you should also see the college's reputation...for example, taylors has produced some really bright kids and unis accept their mocks or forecast for entries...(i think so;P)..and anyway, as markuss puts it, its more on induvidual effort.....if u work hard u'll do well in whichever college u end up choosing..

so does other colleges too, don't forget some of the bright kids are JPA scholars, so its not surprising many of them get a place base on their forecast result

Go to both colleges and check it out for yourself. Do attend the a lvls preview for both the colleges and meet the lecturers yourself. The environment may be a factor apart from lecturers. All i know is, all of my friends at HELP have no regrets. Not everyone can say that... :) And.. college rox.... do enjoy. Its not all about studying....

I choose Taylors. No wait, I choose ss15.
PROS:
- Asia Cafe (good food and eye candy)
- Cyber Cafe (DotA)
- Lodging
- Malls/Carefour
- Regular busses
- Safe (watch out for snatch thief and Pizza hut delivery guy)
- Plenty of girls (Sri KL, Inti, Taylors, Metro, school girls etc)
- Taylors library is pretty good
- Classrooms well air conditioned (the higher the colder)
CONS:
- Plenty of China/Indo students who behave worse than Malaysians
- Plenty of Africans trying to score
- Might spend too much time having fun (like misled_youth)
*I'm benchmarking Taylors against KDU, Sunway, Inti, Metro
