By ATU you mean the one in UiTM right?
I don't know of any specific loans, but I think ATU does accept privately funded students, although the acceptance criteria would still apply to you.
Just curious.. why do you want ATU specifically?

I think ATU (american top universities) program is a goverment sponsorship. So basically if you applied and didn't get it.. i think thats it.
There's always a way to come to USA for studies but through ATU i doubt it. The only way is fillin up the form and expect them to call for an interview.

ATU is not a government sponsored program. It just happens that most government sponsored students are sent to the ATU program.
In any case, if you doubt you could earn sponsorship, you could always apply for an education loan from banks or sort though paying back is a b*tch. :)
also, there are a few sponsorships available in the US if you failed to secure one in Malaysia. However, most of them pay your tuition fee partially.

I think MACEE does offer some scholarship too, besides you could get scholarship from various universities over in the states.
For instance, universities like MIT, Harvard etc are need-based university, which means if you can get in, they will offer you a package of financial aids to allow you to be able to study there. Of course, you will need to part with some of your savings, your parents need to contribute partially, you may need to work part time and over the breaks, but you will be able to do it, as long as you gain admission into the university.
Some top liberal arts colleges do have attractive scholarships. Wesleyanne will be able to answer this, since she is under one of those scholarships.

ATU means American Top universities, this is the term coined by Malaysian govt to recruit students who are going to the top universities.
They usually send those people to UiTM or Sunway College for preparation.
You can call JPA. http://www.jpa.gov.my/defaultn.asp?noflash
to ask about how to get the scholarship.
OR, you can go to some twinning programs in some private colleges, like Sunway College or Taylor. Sometimes, they offered some scholarships, but, usually, it's not a full scholarship.
I might not be the best person to give you such info, since I haven't been keeping in touch with all these info for almost 5 years now.
But, I'm sure a lot more people will give more updates...
For the time being, you can do something on your part first (call JPA, go to MACEE, etc) and update us too!
