Do you think school uniform needs to be reformed?
Sometimes our uniforms look geeky.
maybe it is better if students wear clothes like in the matrixs :D

from 6 uni is okay. just please do not make me wear singlets underneath. for heaven's sake our white blouses are not TRANSPARENT and the weather is freaking humid.

Personally I think that the blue secondary school pinafore isn't that fancy...I think a longer collared blouse (with non-transparent material, but still breathable) and a little over the knee length (so that when we sit down it dosen't fly up too high and still looks modest), dark colored skirt looks better...and a tie for looking smart.

On an unrelated note, the current F6 uniform makes me look like an office girl...just replace the school shoes with heels :amuse I also think that the boys' one also looks smart. (I have this weird liking for guys wearing all office-like, with the collar and tie)

Well, all school require boys to wear collared shirt, long pants with a tie and school shoes. If you are a prefect or librarian, maybe you will need to wear coat(depends on the school). So you gonna like all these boys? :nuts

I am satisfied with boys' uniform although sometimes it's quite annoying to wear coat when the weather is already so hot! It made me dizzy and sweat a lot.

the type of uniform i would like to wear(if i am still a high school student) are those in animes like haruhi suzumiya or shakugan no shana with short sleeves and the skirt around knee length

Not all...I like specifically the way long-sleeved collared shirts look on guys. With a black pants. And preferably smell good or at least OK(body odor + sweat marks on shirts spoils it all!) Makes them look good...For me la that is...

The coat is awfully hot--I agree! I've seen some of my prefect friends sweat through their shirts after taking off the coat after the assembly (that's when they're required to wear the blazer)...you're a prefect?:)

Well, your description matches the uniforms of the prefects, librarians and class monitors of my school. Yes I am a prefect. Thats why I know its damn hot wearing one especially when its about afternoon.

My school's tie is not good looking. I would like them to redesign a better one because its seriously ugly and it spoils the students' images. :P

My school tie was nice last time.. Dark blue with white and red stripes at the bottom.. But wearing the blazer make me feel quite weird sometimes.. Actually the blazer size quite big for me..:P And we are forced to wear it everyday during assembly and recess.. I wish the girls uniform can be changed.. Wearing a white shirt inside and the blue gown on top is not comfortable actually..

u had to wear it everyday ?! LOL.. well, for my school, our uniforms are custom made ( which makes it sooo expensive =.=) so the material is not transparent at all like pre-made uniforms sold.. so, its easier for us as we dont have to wear two layers :)

A school badge at the middle of the tie with two stripes only(after wearing). The tie is dark blue in colour and the stripes are yellow and red in colour. This is for prefect's tie. For normal students, the ties only have a badge. Its not so good looking. :notrust

Custom made? Does that mean you don't have to wear the normal uniform like the rest of us...do you go to a public school or a private school? (Just wondering, no need to tell name of school la...)

i think i can imagine it.. but i thought most schools have ties like yours ? badge with stripes? haha.. mine is like many tiny badges on the tie.. its small so it goes unnoticed sometimes :amuse

haha no worries .i go to a public school too.. its just that students who hold special posts like prefects and librarians have their own special uniform. but the normal students have to wear the regular outfit lol :P

I like my previous prefect tie. Its a fully striped with small badges too! The stripes are all silver in colour. It looked much much better than present one. I don't know why they decided to change it.

Its something like my school tie last time but no badge in the middle.. They change to that new style without badge.. Im wondering why all school ties need to put badge in the middle.. Some even with the school name the whole tie and other patterns..:notrust

Yeah, its like they only want the tie to be worn in that school. Copyrighted perhaps or they just want to promote the school. :P For prefects, the form 6 cloth is purple in colour(at my place). White shirt for normal students as usual.

The funny part of your whole outfit is the colour of your shoes. A white coloured shoes should look better instead of a black one. :P

Look nice with the black blazer..:) For librarian is light green shirt and drak blue pants for form 1-5 and white pants for form 6.. Too many colour for school uniform in our country..:sweat

my high school uniforms are so colourful too

blue vests for class monitor
green vest for librarians
maroon blazers for prefects (though they are phasing that out with vests too)
the rest of the clothing are white with black shoes.

Although it's very hot, I think I prefer blazers to vests. Vests make students look like waiters and waitresses... :lol

This is my former school's combination(prefect). For librarian, they wear white shirt with white pants. As my former school doesn't offer form 6, so me and my friends have to go another nearby school(if going to form 6) and we have seen their uniforms. It is okay for me but I'd prefer it more if the colour is lighter. :laugh

Why? Wearing uniforms is kinda cool to me! (albeit in Convent schools the regular uniforms look like aprons) Uniforms make you feel connected to the educational institution you're studying in. In Taylor's I can hardly tell who is a Taylorian and who's not (not to mention finding difficulty in differentiating the lecturers and students too...).

If we can just wear Tees with jeans/slacks, it will be perfect! Anyone with me? :P

Same here. During secondary school, when I went for competitions I won't change my uniform after the event even when we were going shopping. Some people think that uniforms make them look like small kids.

Why you don't like that? :huh The grass is always greener on the other side eh!

Eh... I prefer to believe that I used to be on the greener side. This side I am in now is never greener.

So it seems. I find uniforms less complicated. I don't have to worry that someone notices I wear the same tee over and over again :P

Yeah, every day when I go to college it's like going to Fashion Week. Come on people! You're supposed to dress like a student, not a party-goer! Also, there'll be fashion polices commenting on everyone's dressing!
