HI everybody, here, we're working on how to upload and downloading papers. Although my intention is to have everybody share their papers with others( rather than throw it away on the wastebasket or drag it to recycle bin), I realize that they are some potential problems:

1. people might plagiarize somebody's work and hence violate copyright law .
2. As a result of their action, we might also get into their trouble as well, for providing this service.

So, I think I have solution:
1. Agreement:
Before one uploading a paper, make sure they know that we're not responsiible to any damage on their intellectual property.
Before one downloading the paper, make sure they agree not plagiarize the original author's works.
(like any software agreement).

2. Converting a paper to a .pdf file.
This may not prevent any damage, but one cannot modifies the work of original authors (Unless one type it, the whole thing and uploding again here)

Can;t think of anymore right now...any suggestions?

Yeah... plagiarism might be an issue.
But I would assume that everyone here is honorable and disciplined enough not to do such a thing.
Ideally, Malaysia should be a free country where the people have civic consciousness. When can we finally achieve that? I guess it's still a long way to go.

I'm just considering the worst case scenario. But if everybody is honest, why not doing it? ....and that's the ideal of this service. and I hope this service and agreements, would be up next week, or maybe less.

Actually, I;m suprise how many people toss their papers away. Back then, I was writing my paper that I thought would change the world. Unfortunately, I end up deleting it.

So, if you think that you've written a paper, you can just post it here. maybe one day, we'll compile it and make it "Malaysian Students Academic Journal" and have people benefit from it.

Before uploading papers, make sure you have the copyright mark.
and write your email address, so people who're interested on your research can ask you questions. I'll try to invite a Malaysian researcher here at USC to help us mentor this service ..
