I'm sure most of you know about this right?
One of my acquaintance applied for a place in a Ukraine uni and she paid the deposit (about rm 10,000++, i guess) just a few days before
this news was announced. She was dismalled and shocked beyond words. What do you guys think she should do? Coz she had to study pre-u first and starting in the uni next yr.

Strictly from a legal perspective, your friend is entitled to get her money back. She entered a contract with the agent, and that contract has now been 'frustrated' (in legal jargon, this means that it cannot be lawfully performed anymore). However, I doubt these agents would be terribly interested in debating legal niceties with people. :( Or they can get a good lawyer and argue that the contract can still be performed, although the result is 'less valuable'.
