According to the center for evidence based medicine: "Evidence-based medicine is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients."

Evidence based medicine is fast becoming the trend of future medical practice, however, skeptics argue that EBM may not be the most efficient clinical practice.

Should EBM prevail over the authorative of traditional medical practice?

What do you think?

May I know what are the reasons behind the skeptic's claim?

There are many critics, though i do not completely cocmprehend them, one claim being "EBM applies to populations, not necessarily to individuals".

Also, "the knowledge gained from clinical research does not directly answer the primary clinical question of what is best for the patient at hand".

In fact, after going through a few lectures, i find it a little difficult to comprehend the true meaning of EBM.
