As ReCom is recuperating from the effects of this attack, lets learn together the lessons behind all these. So, may be we could have all the happenings shared out and we all learn from this time around~!
And most importantly, please help to spread the words around~! Telling your friends that ReCom is back and also please get back to active and this will spur ReCom recovery rate!!!

Hi guys,
we learn a very good lesson : Always, always , always, backup the data.
no matter who host the data, never trust them.
we got it once ... and definitely don't want the same thing happen again.

i think it's hackerz who feels jealous at us ... anyway this is a question to Syamsul and bachok .. can I reimplement SIG module at this server now? are you going to switch again?

luke, yes you can.. i supposed syamsul has emailed you about the login info.. but still i'll reforward it to you...
you can implement the module now, we've decided to use this hosting... but the domain has not been resolved yet..
we are still working with them, but luckily we have this temp link... otherwise we have to wait for about 14 days to resolve the domain...
dont worry too much about the domain, they will turn back to normal once the domain issue is fixed...
thanks luke..

Yup. The hosting company got hacked. Guess we're fortunate to learn a lesson by losing only 1/2 month of data. Imagine if this happened 6 months from now - it will be totally awful! :?

ouch. so what's the new backup schedule? how much data do we generate every month? i think we might want to stay on the paranoid side and backup the stuff as frequently as possible.

sorry bachok I was really busy right now ... there's a malaysian event this friday and we had some ticketing issues I need to settle ... I might not be able to log into ReCom at the normal rate ... therefore the SIG module might not be up for a while until later in next week ...
for fish, actually the one which is locked is the forum for SIG .. we have a special section for SIGs and the forum is just a part from the larger architecture of it. actually we had been running the SIG section for quite a while before our host was hacked .. so what you see right now was just a remnant of the past .. if this was an RPG, it was the last savestate .. imagine forgetting to save the game before venturing into the last dungeon ... then suddenly you were defeated by the last boss .. well, reload the last savegame and fight the boss again but the loots you got on the last session were gone and unrecoverable ... that is what our condition looks like now ... we lost 1/2 months of "loots" and now we are in the state of recovering .. hope those who just registered can understand ... once we are back to our normal pace, you'll see how great ReCom is :) ..

as lots of people here said, we just recovered from this data loss disaster .. so you should expect some errors here and there ... in fact the one you mention is not an error ... the cute little map was simply moved to the right hand side ... come on, human view range is almost 160 degrees so you don't even have to turn your head to spot the map :| ... some mismatches between announcement and the actual thing is not the end of the world (heh even Microsoft website *had* broken links .. broken links! a lot more severe error than this) ... we are trying our best to fix all errors here .. please bear with us 'kay?

Thanks for everyone that helps pointing out the little bugs here and there. Please continue to help us spot all the errors.
And I certainly would like to thank Syamsul, Yusuf, Lukman and others especially for all their hard work at coding and helping building up the entire ReCom!
