outermost e is screened fr attraction of the positive nucleus by repelling effect of inner e's.
in other words, inner e's shield the outer e's from full charge of the nucleus.
the net positive charge attracting the outer e is called effective nuclear charge.
as effective nuc charge increases, outermost e's pulled in closer to the nucleus causing atomic radius to be smaller.

Across the same period (AKA merentasi kala) the amount of electrons and protons increase right?

But extra electrons are added into the same shell. The screening effect does not increase very much as we go across the period because of this.

Screening effect increase when we descend a GROUP because the size of atoms gets larger, and there is more electrons and shells between the valance electron and the attractive nucleus.

Most important is the number of shells increase. More electrons but same shell = not much increase in screening effect.
