Hey,

Just a random question to shoot out to you guys who are abroad on a scholarship (JPA)...

I was actually wondering if you can take on the study abroad opportunities at your enrolled university here at the US?

I know for sure JPA doesnt pay for it but if it is like self-financed, is this possible? What happens to the US-Visa Status then?

Anyone out there knows anything about these things? or know of someone who does?

If you are self-financing your study abroad, I don't see any problem. If you are going during summer or winter holiday, then it is perfectly fine. If you are going during semester time, make sure your university is fine. For Visa, I don't see any problem, but double check with your university international students' office.

If you are going to get JPA to pay for your study abroad, do plan well ahead and apply. There are some students who have been able to get it approved, but you would need to apply 1-2 years in advance, and show why you need to go abroad for studies. You would need strong recommendation letters from your university, as well as your embassy.
