Pharmacy and Pharmacology

I am a student interested to study Pharmacy. However, since Pharmacology and Pharmacy are often assumed to be quite the same, I would like to know if a student doing Pharmacology can eventually become a pharmacist in Malaysia.

Also, when Times UK Good University Guide reported that Cambridge University ranks top in Pharmacy/Pharmacology course in UK, is it referring to the former or latter or both?

I do not know about UK's way of categorizing a field of study but pharmacology is different from pharmacy. In fact, very different. Pharmacology is the study of drug --- drug making, drug design. They cannot dispense drug, they don't see patients. As for Pharmacist, i think you already know what they do.
