Anyone here applying to University of Pennslyvania, specifically Wharton? Does anyone know if there's a quota for Malaysian students there?

Well, not really. MIT does admit that there's a 110 quota for international students...

As far as I know, if you want to slightly increase your chances of getting admitted, esp to Wharton, do not apply to Wharton when you submit your application. Apply to the School of Sceince and Arts instead. Then, if you do well in that department, you can request for a transfer to Wharton. A senior of mine was admitted to School of Science and Arts for Engineering and she excels academically there. So, her professors wrote recommendation letters for her and now she's doing her double degree in Wharton.

But I heard transferring to Wharton from inside is hell, it's gonna be as hard as applying to it directly.

They require us to take a pre-u course (e.g. a levels). i don't think ADFP is a pre-u course, right? will it jeopardise our chances in getting onto wharton? :?

Over the past 5 years, INTEC has produced 2 students that managed to enter successfully into Wharton, and hence, this proves that there is no problem in that aspect.
As far as I know, INTEC has produced students who have entered universities, from Caltech, MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Wharton, UPenn, Berkeley, Cornell, Brown etc. I think (Correct me if I remember wrongly), there is no INTEC graduates who are studying at Princeton now, but at least 1 INTEC graduate has gotten admission there, but she chose to study at Stanford.
So, I would say that you guys at ATU12 should have trust in the ADFP program. A lot depend on how much effort you put into your application process. Your application essays, your interview, recommendation letters etc. Everything has to be tip-top to gain entry into good universities. So, try your best.
Make full use of the resources here in ReCom.org .
Well, i know its not impossible for us to get into Wharton but i've taken A levels before and the courses are much tougher then ours at INTEC. Ifeel that it will give us some disadvantage....Looking at the blank space (pre-u courses) in my form sorta disheartened me. Then how about the universities we're applying by ourselves? (other than the 3/4 unis OSSP allows) if its OSSP which help us break the rule, then does it means that we don't stand a chance if we apply on our own?

Wow...it has been ages since I last visited this site. And it's really late at night so I will make this short.
Nothing is impossible. I concur with Chen Chow that you should have some faith in the ADFP program. On the other hand, whether you get into Penn or any other ivy leagues/top universities in particular solely depends on you. I'm not going to delve into SAT scores, high school results and etc....That's pretty obvious.... Thus, what really differentiates a successful applicant and a reject, apart from excellent grades is how uniquely different you are. Eg; what qualities or abilities that you possess and how can you contribute to the academic environment at these universities? That said, strong application essays are good reflections on who you are and how you characterize yourself.
With reference to the transfer to Wharton from inside, yes, it is ?slightly? easier to get into Wharton once you're at Penn provided that you excel academically here. That said, do not use this alternative as a desperate attempt to get into Wharton cause there might be repercussion. Other schools at Penn are equally as good as Wharton. We have the finest medical, law, social science and engineering schools. So, do consider the other schools/courses that Penn has to offer when applying.
There is a small Malaysian community at Penn that is more than willing to help prospective students. For starters, you can visit our Malaysians @<hidden> Penn club website at
http://www.mybesh.com/M@<hidden>/
If in doubt or if you need any further assistance, do not hesitate to use our "Contact Us" form to communicate with us.
Until then, I wish you all the best of luck in your university applications and future endeavors.

Why is it a disadvantage? I don't think A lvls offer Calculus 1 and 2, C++ 1 and C++ 2, which are definitely more advance than regular pre-u Mathematics.. Intec, on the other hand, does. Don't try TOO hard to impress others. If ADFP is what you've really taken, put it down. It's up to the Americans to define what is "higher standard".
If you are deserve to get an ivy, you will get it.

What happens if an individual have taken more than 3 semesters of ADTP?
Should the person apply as freshmen or transfer. I heard its almost impossible to transfer into Wharton.

Its a Bachelor of Science in Economics, but you get to choose your own concentration. For example, you can get a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Concentration in International Business.

There are 19 concentrations that you can pursue at Wharton (although none is explicitly written as Business Administration) http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/undergrad/subPage.cfm?pageID=17
The Wharton school offers the Bachelor of Science in Economics for all undergraduates irregardless of their concentrations.
