How rampant is third world corruption? Is there anything we can do about it?
Is corruption the main reason why there is poverty in the world.
In what sense do corrupt politicians contribute to the problem of lack of food and industrial devlelopment in the third world nations.
How is corruption holding back further progress in nations closer to home.
Is there corruption in the first world?
How can we as developing nations achieve first world corruption levels assuming that it is less in the first world?
What can we do as citizens to encourage less corruption in society?
How can we stamp out corruption? How do we actually know that corruptions exists in the third world?

well, basically, citizens conform to corruption as it's quite often, if not always, a sweeter alternative to the 'right' path, like illegal downloads to real CDs.
So, citizens benefit(albeit short term-ly), and the other party benefits too, it's so easy to corrupt and be corrupted. To put this to an end, the 'right' path must be made sweeter than the corruption path. No demand, no supply. Almost like economics..:D

Erm, should be 'we humans' instead of 'you humans'.

yes sure.
So you're saying the nature of humans is greedy. If you ask my parents about when i was a kid they'll tell you how generous and humble i was. They'll tell you how i never took more than i needed. And how i'd ask my parents to spend less if it wasnt necessary.

I didn't indicate greed is the nature of humans. Human Nature is one thing, some people are humble n generous etc, like u 8) , but corruption can mean a lot of things, like u bribe to take the easy way out, people bribe the court with terms like 'settle-out-of-court', or u simply bribe the driving instructor to pass u.
All this aren't motivated by greed, simply because it is an OPTION. Or most people are just ignorant to the side-effects of their actions.

It proves one thing though doesnt it? humans without guidance are flawed. Thats why we have a book which teaches us right from wrong and it also tells you that you cannot go wrong if you follow this book.

So are you saying that humans with guidance are less flawed? The people that you spoke of HAS guidance, and if they are as currupt as you mentioned, you are contradicting yourself.
Unless, of course, that book you refer to is pendidikan moral form 5. All the good ol nilai murni.

i do believe, no..i know that it's human nature to crave for things...aren't we all like that?? we want this and that..some will inevitably want more things than others.
and from here stems the cause for corruption...
and there is a saying in our secondary school earlier that the people with the worst morality are those who gets the highest marks for p. moral in spm, since it's all just memorizin...jus a joke ok...no hard feeling eh

I think the problem is that the culture makes it cool to be nasty, aggresive and evil. contemporary popular culture that is. There are no more gentlemen. Thats why i think the worlds morality is going down. Remember what happened to sodom and gomorroa? allah destroyed it with disease and sunk it in to the dead sea. in jordan. Same thing could happen to all of these cultures. Maybe not now but in fifty or a hundred years.
