transfer? I think you meant migration......

Yes, it is possible, you will be under skilled professionals category. It depends on other factors too, as you already know, most of our local medical graduates lack clinical skills, that may ne a stumbling block in your application.

Theoretically, it's pretty easy. You're supposed to clear the AMC exam (which is pretty much a killer), IELTS, and then you'll be under supervision for a year or so (I think, I'm not sure for how long) before you can practise independantly.

But practically, it's not so easy. You'll have to spend a lot of time and effort trying to get yourself recognised in Aussieland. Jobs are not abundant, competition is stiff, so you must be sure that you're good. Getting into a higher training programme ie:specialisation, is something I don't understand but I know it's pretty tough.

The good news is that you're allowed to work in underserved areas in unpopular specialties before you pass your exam. When you get your license, you can choose whichever job you want.

Maybe youngyew can help you further?

But one thing I don't understand. If you're planning to 'transfer' Down Under, why bother completing the compulsory service? You can go straight to Australia (though you might lose out on experience and other standings).

Well, just afraid that i might broke the Malaysian law, haha.
Though i am thinking of a transfer, still i am very loyal to this country.
My purpose of making a transfer is to join the research team in aussie for cancer ( which i found is very active ), to serve the world, not only my country.

The 3-years compulsory service is just some sort of a timeframe before you can move over to the private sector. If you're not planning to practice in the private sector (ie:move overseas), then you don't really need to complete this compulsory service.

If you are not planning to become a clinician, then you are not required to pass the AMC exam. But it is better to consult the institution you're planning to join before deciding further.
