NLP is neuro linguistic programming..

it's a quite useful technique, but a bit too dangerous.
some of the techniques of NLP are useful and quite common psychology knowledge.
however, some are going too far..

NLP is a pretty new science. There hasn't been much testing done on it. For more info check up neuro linguistic programming on Wikipedia. There are also a few books available in the bookshops.
