Eh, I thought aggregates are no longer used?
Last time, (if I'm not mistaken) they take 6 of your best subjects (or was it the core subjects?) and add the numbers all up.
eg: Mr. A got 9A1, so he gets aggregate 6
Mr. B got 9A2 so he gets aggregate 12
The lower the aggregate, the better.

Ya we are not using aggregate anymore for spm.... but i thought aggregate = (Sum of grades of all subjects) / Total subjects, no?

They take your 6 best subjects (but must include BM in one of them, if I'm not mistaken).

Aggregate 6 because we only take into account 6 subjects though I'm not sure whether it's the best 6 or the core subjects.

I don't think so.
But anyway, anyone else can help?? We need old-timers here!

The best 3 Core subject, Bahasa Melayu and the best 2 Elective subject.
Agregat 6 - 23 = 1st Class/Grade/Pangkat
Agregat 24 - 32 = 2nd Class/Grade/Pangkat
Agregat 33 - 41 = 3rd Class/Grade/Pangkat
Agregat 42 - 53 = SAP (you dont get a SPM certificate) but a Sijil Am Peperiksaan instead.
54 = Fail in all subject.
