ya...MMS is multimedia messaging services.. n it is thru cellphone...planning nak wat home surveillance via MMS@<hidden> phone..
that is camera catch the image of the house, then store it in the database..
then, when the user request to view the image at a certain time, so, he/she will send a msg to MMSC to view the image(like usual send message)..then he/she will accept the image he/she required thru MMS function in the henset...ala2 gitu ler..
so,apa pendapat korang?bgler idea n komens

sounds a good idea... nice man..

anyway, i'm not "that" technical in those stuff (i mean programming)

but, masterof_none have taken a class base on a new programming language called BREW

for your information, Brew is designed to fit into cellphones, i dont know whether you can use it or not, but it should work just fine with nokia and many other cellphones too.

So what do you think masterof_none?

any idea??

for the database part, i think i can help, but not really sure what kind of database you need, and do you wanna put a computer like server running 24 hours??

so that pictures can be sent to the computer?? i dont know, but it could be... anyway, do some research on that particular topic, (i give u a hint = google is a good start :D dont say out loud, coz some of the users here dont like google )

I've writtten an Alien game on a cellphone last summer only but never such a hardcore apps like that.
But it sounds really cool .Let's see what we can do:

1. Decide what platform . which platform did your teacher ReComMends?
there are 2 kinds of popular platforms out there:
1. Sun's J2ME http://java.sun.com/j2me
2. Qualcomm's Brew www.qualcomm.com/brew

There are more actually, ...such as palmOS, etc.

if you like Java, J2ME is the platform, but if you like to write it in C++, go ahead with Brew.

I prefer Java. It's easier to debug and has a rich library.

If I were you, maybe I would enable my Bluetooth on my Mac, transfer the pictures , save it in a .PNG file, and store it in an arrays or something
Then, write a program, retrieve the pictures every now and then, then I'm done.

I know what's gonna be the huge problem.

Images is huge, while your cellphone has limited memory. So, you may want to delete the pictures after you retrieve it.

It's easy for me to say this and that, but I know it's really hard to implement. But given ample time, God willing, it can be done.

After you decided which platform, then only you'll have a clear idea how you want to go about it.

You could also share with us the URL class website /info about the assignment so that we can see a little bit what's all about. If you want to.

you might want to checkout textamerica.com. their moblogs use the new camera-phones like the nokia 3650 to take pictures and put them on the web
