All right, guys. No worries. You can stop biting your nails over the supposed IQ test, psychology test etc.
It's merely a true/false set of questions plus a few 'how would you rank yourself on a scale of 1 to 7' questions - the kind that you get for career counselling. I think they're just trying to see what your interests really are. The test lasts 45 minutes and is done in BM.

So how about the overall interview? Is there any essay test?
I am sure that there is group discussion right?
Iraka

No essay test. And yep, group discussion after that. Over here, it's done in groups of 10 and following alphabetical order (which would explain why my group discussion is only due at 4 pm later...). I heard it'll be done part in English and part in BM....will update once I've gone through it.

Thanks a lot. Btw, it is really tiring for you to wait until 4 pm. In this case, if the person finish earlier, he can go back earlier, right?

Should be. I'm not one of the fortunate early ones, so I really can't say for sure though.^^;;;

Hmm... Does tat mean first of all u do the True/False Set, no need self intro?
Then, after tat, wait time to pass for the group discussion, where partly done in 2 languages? So, no need to write for the essay??
Thanks in adv. Good luck too!

juz come back from the interview...
mine was conducted in a small office where 10 of us sit in a circle, there is only one person interviewing the 10 of us. First, we get to introduce ourself, we are asked to explain y we choose the course and then where do we wan to go. After that, the interview starts. Our group ques are quite hard compare to other groups. The ques goes like this "The PM says tat Malaysia has first class facilities but third-class mentality. Agree or disagree?" After answering tat ques in BM, we hav an ENGLISH ques on How to promote tourism.
hope this helps...

4 chances??
Is it following the sequence based on your sits??
so, you all sit in a straight line or round in shape??
Is it like " Can you give your opinion on this this this, that that that... then stop... next person please.... then next.. then..."????
Alternatively four turns, you mean??

We went into a hall for a personality test at about 8.30am. The test is about yourself. Don't worrry, no IQ test.
After the test, we checked the time for the interview session. My interview was at 3.30pm, so I went home first.
There are 6 persons in my group and there are 2 interviewers. Our discussion topics are:
1. Malaysia aspires to become a centre of education excellence, why JPA still sends students overseas? Give the pros and cons.
( hehe, same as last year question)
2. patriotism
The interview is conduted in English and BM.
Hope these information will help.

but not necessarily according to ur seat, he will juz pin point any of ur group member

Just got back from my interview....the last group ever, what luck.-_-;;;
Well, judging from the previous posts, all I can say is that the actual way in which the group discussion is done is entirely dependant on the interviewers themselves (I'm assuming there's always two of them).
But basically, what's required is that first, everyone introduces themselves (whether BM or BI I think is up to the interviewers). Be brief. Just mention your name, where you're from, mention any important roles or activities you fulfilled in school and the course you're applying for (and maybe why...though strangely enough, my interviewers never probed for it, nor did any of my group members delved into it).
Then, they'll give the BM topic (mine was pembelajaran sains dan matematik dalam bahasa inggeris) and you'll have to discuss it among yourselves. In my case, we all could talk whenever we wanted (most of us had an equal chance of expressing our opinions since we were polite enough to give way to the others). Then when the interviewers feel like wrapping it up, they'll ask for a brief conclusion (each of us was allowed a final say in turn).
Then the English topic (mine was how to promote Malaysia) and the same process as mentioned above.
And...you're done! Make sure you retrieve your folder of documents and certificates before you leave if you haven't already. And do say thank you and shake hands with the interviewers. ;)

From wat i see, we need to be short and concise while delivering a point for the selected topic. Coz everyone has to be given a chance to talk rite?

(Personally... I feel the same way too... Why the preparation and tips? To put on a show to convince them you are actually a person who you are really not? I was browsing through this thread.. I saw one of the topics was "Patriotism"? Now I can imagine people flipping through 1000 Contoh Karangan... Jotting down the points and start memorizing.... )

wow... i never thought that interview is a great experience..
after the application test, t went home.
then, came back in evening-2pm
the best thing is that my best friends were in the same group with me.
and i had already knew the other two in the group
so, i wait outside the interview room, and get to know the other 2 candidates in my group.
( there are 7 girls in my group -including me- it's all-girl group actually, and all malay-)
as i already knew others, i'm not very nervous anymore.
in the interview room, we were given the topic
'patriotism is lacking among youth'
so, we discussed,disscused,disscused....( all in english )
and the funny thing is that, we dont really stuck on that patriotism topic
we start to say about plkn, then coutesy, then tourism, then engineering, then loyalty to the country, and many more..
we back-up each other
and the panels ...wow, very nice.
of course they tried to disturb us, but wow... we did work as a team.. support each other
and the panels seemed to enjoy our disscussion ( but maybe thay are just being proffesional...hmmmmm i dont know)
i guess for this interview session,
you must get to know the other candidates in your group first, it really helped...(well, it worked for my interview)
you will feel free to say something, and everyone will try to help each other
but still, i dont know whether we'll get the scholarship or not, but i really2 enjoy that session....
feel like to do the interview again... an hour is too short for all of us to talk...hahaha
