Kramnik has won the first game. Although not so convincingly i think..

what a pity for Topalov....another sensational loss in a dominating position...how can he miss Rxg4+?? (1-0)
i m sad for him..

Yeah i know! That was the most interesting attacking chess I've seen in this few years. I was watching Kramnik played ...Bxf8 and I thought.. god.. that's crazy.. I didn't know at that time that Rxg4 would have finished off Kramnik until Topa played Qg6+ without good result.
I think Topa was having too much pressure that he made a bad calculation. I think game 3 will be very interesting!
I'm not sure how many Malaysians are aware of this reunification match. I really hope that chess fever like when Fisher-Spassky, Kasparov-Karpov or even Kasparov-Short before, will happen again.

Even yesterday's draw was considered one of the best draw this year..
I think Topalov's opening is not so promising today compared to game 1 and 2. I wonder if he's going to use Berlin Defense at all in the Championship.

Wow.. Drama and more drama from the World Championship.
I think it's one of the most interesting drama after Fisher's before. Full of demands and requests and player not showing up to a game.
What do you think?

This is insane...I cant believe the highly awaited Reunification of World Chess Champion Title Match will turn out this way. Although I always support Topalov for his chess style (and I hope he wins), but unless Kramnik is really proved wired, this act of Topalov and his team was nothing else but truly disgraceful.
Anyhow, I am quite sure that both of them will continue this match. Anyone who quits this match will suffer a lot of critiques from the rest of the world for the rest of his life. If the game ends in this way, then any possible reunification match in future is almost impossible.
And whether we like it or not, looking at the current situation, the image of chess as either an art or a sports element has already suffered a huge blow with the current drama on fire, right on the stage.
(For those who are not aware of what's going on, please google it, or simply go to websites like www.chessbase.com)

The game today lost its zing... :(
Anyway, I saw your story somewhere in the internet zingkov. So you were tied 2nd behind Nakamura in Japan?! How exciting!!
I couldn't play chess over here anymore since my car is too old to move around anymore.. hah...

That event was not that strong la. My result was rather bad too. But I enjoyed my game with Nakamura. I nearly got a draw in the final position of R vs R+1P, despite not touching chess for more than a year. I played quite well in that game, but the other games I did not play so well. Or perhaps those Japanese played really well. Mark those few guys, they will become much stronger very soon. I am very sure as not only I played and analyzed with them, but I also chatted, dined and walked with them everyday throughout the event. They were crazily in love in chess and was spending a huge amount of time to study chess seriously. I was not surprised at all when I checked the Dato Arthur Tan event's result where they managed to draw with Yee Weng and even beat 2400+ Philippine IM.
But I was surprised that this remisaman really enjoyed googling. Haha.
Actually that travel to Japan was one of the best trip I have had in my life. Though only stayed there for 6 days, but I acheived a lot of things, met new & old chess friends, learnt a lot of research things from a famous Prof in Uni of Tokyo and toured around Shinjuku and Akibahara (perhaps the crowdest place on earth). And the best part: I earned some extra money even after deducting the cost which I spent on air ticket, hotel, food etc..

Another interesting and complicated game again today.
I am still surprised with Topalov extensive preparation since he played very fast and very accurate too.
Kramnik took a long time and still blundered.
Maybe he didn't get enough bathroom rest/visit.
Please leave a comment on my prediction and commentaries on the last part of the game here: http://zabbura2002.blogspot.com

It's done.
Vladimir Kramnik is the new unified world chess champion (after 13 years!).
He deserved it.

Kinda empty here, don't you think so? Anywhere, well done Vladimir Kramnik. I sort of laughed off when I reread all his past attempts to win the crown from Karpov and Kasparov. Finally, he managed to get it.

yeah.. it's kinda empty around here... We have been active for a while and then a lot of people are getting busier with stuff. Maybe you can help making it more active! We have some great players over here including the Malaysian best player, you-know-who 8)
Anyway, Kramnik won against Kasparov and he had the title for some years already. Maybe that's also because he didn't want to have a rematch before this.

what i find quite sad is topalov is not going to compete in the next year world championschip just because he lost the unification match.

i find it weird too..
why can't he try to get the title once again?
karpov and kasparov played 4 years in a row (84-87), so why can't topa play?
Kramnik seems unlikely to accept the rematch proposal, just as he decline to play against kasparov.
i'm not sure who's my fav. player now.
i like topa, but not his reaction in elise
i don't really like kramnik, but i like his reaction in elise.
i like short, but he seems to be arrogant some time - example: when he say bad things at kamsky while observing WC
nakamura sound quite arrogant to sometimes.
i like kamsky, carlsen, radjabov, anand and morozevich. I hope nothing will make them looks bad in the future.
