Physicists had been investigating the events that had happened ever since the Big Bang. But whatever before it cannot be predicted because all known physical laws will break down upon singularity...
Now a new model had been proposed to explain what had happened all the time. While it haven't been tested fully, i think it may present a whole new way of thinking... Did the Big Bang actually happened? Or it our time really infinite?

Stephen hawking said big bang is "spontaneous" and doesn't need a God to create it.
his latest work is "the Grand Design". i'm reading it now : D
Well big bang is just another theory. . and theories are hard to prove. maybe someone can come up with new idea of existance next time. and proves those theories.

A Theory is something that has been proven over and over and over again by tests and observations. They have stood through this many tests, and have came out fitting into the observation and results. The two great theories of the past century, The Special and General Theory of Relativity, are now called theories, because, despite their outlandish and un-common sense predictions, they were proven correct by thousands of tests and observations.
The Big-Bang "Theory" is called a theory because it fits in with observations done by astronomers, and there is still nothing else to displace it... yet.
By the way, the "God" in Stephen Hawking's book doesn't necessary refer to Theistic "God" that many of us believe in.

We can never prove the physical world the way we prove that in a right-angle triangle the sum of the squares of the two sides are always equal to the square of the third side. But what we can do, and have always done, is to corroborate and substantiate a theory by observation, prediction and verification. You are right in that it's a theory, but it is a theory in the same way as the theory of gas kinetics, the theory of gravitation and the theory of evolution. You might say "theories" are inferior to "laws", but you would be mistaken because theories and laws are different things altogether. Laws simply note that something happens, theories explain how and why thing happens.

Yes , that One of the definition of theory. theory can mean a guess too or smth that one beliefs in but have yet to be proven

In the scientific world, a hypothesis can only be called a theory when it can be substantiated with proof by observations and calculations...

That's the layman use which is unfortunate for the clarify of science. Scientists don't use the word "theory" lightly before they have a fair amount of evidence of its reliability and workability.
