Playing WMA on Winamp 2.81

How can I play WMA files on Winamp 2.81?
I just don't like the sissy look of Winamp's latest version.

I got a plugin in_wm.dll but still can't playback WMA files in Winamp.

Are there any possible way to play WMA on Winamp besides upgrading to a later version or must I convert it to MP3?

i'm using winamp 2.91 and i can play wma and wmv files. i think the winamp version now is a later version than 2.91.

i wasn't assuming, i know a later version came out earlier this year or at the end of last year. but anyways, the lastest version is 5.02.

i got the latest one! real cool, plus can play both mp3 n WMA..get it ppl! :wink:

Winamp are able to play WMA files since the 1.8 version. I suspect the file your trying to play is corrupted

I tried the same file on Windows Media Player and it works just fine.

I just don't feel like updating cos i'm very comfortable with this version and i'm afraid that the newer version will just consume more resources with all the bells and whistles.

i did one experiment just now .. I renamed an MP3 into WMA and tried to open it with both WMP and WinAmp ... WMP played the file with just a little warning box but WinAmp didn't play it at all .. so I guess your problem is caused by the nonWMA file named as WMA .. try renaming it into MP3 or any other audio file extension ...

Ok, the problem is solved. thanks.

I downloaded 2.91. looks and feels the same as 2.81. so i should be fine.
