cause almost(probably all) the things i m appling now dont ask for that ....

i think it is ok to include that..no harm i think...but think that it is not compulsory to include that when we apply...=))

what i know is those cca certs only...
if i participated in a certain competition and i didn't get any prize but just a participation cert, is that needed during scholarship application?
how about participation cert in out-of-school activities such as choral festival, penang bridge run(forget what it called) and all the PEKA and aural test(in bi and bm) certs?do we need to post it when applying scholarship?

PEKA and aurals are useless but the others you may include.
i don't even think there are certs for PEKA and aurals.

PEKA ,oral n leaving cert r redundant? wat is the time we REALLY used it(even i hav all A in the cert)?

and how about certificates of courses we obtained privately during the long vacation(dec 06 - mac 07)?such as computer course, and language courses(japanese,english etc)...will that help in application?

Starfire, post what you think showcases your assets. If you think the participation for English Drama showcases who you are, then go ahead. But, remember not too put too many certs in the package. Just put what is necessary and you think showcases your abilities. If there's international and national, go for those first and also those that showcases leadership qualities (ie .king scout, president, head prefect, prefect, etc.).

White2020 - I didn't include my PEKA certs. I think I included my testimonials though coz they showed my posts and also achievements in a simplified form.

rulb, about cert that showcase leadership qualities, if king scout's cert can be use, then those Jaya badge's cert obtained can be use or not? because i am not a king scout. =D

Rulb has it right there. Basically, post whatever you think showcases your own ability.

With regard to the leaving school certificate, I don't think that it is useless. This may vary from school to school, but to me, my school cert is definitely worth quite a lot as it displays most of my contributions to the school in a concise form.

As for those small quizzes, courses and other things that you did not make it beyond school level (i.e, where you're recognised purely as a participant), don't send them. What I did was to have all of those stuff written to my leaving school cert and testimonial. It is a very efficient way of presenting a person in a favourable light without getting the reader irritated with the bulk of worthless certs.

i hav a silly question here : What do 'Testimonials' refer to exactly and what does it contain? do we get them from the school? and how does it differ from CV and Resume?

next.....how r copies of certificates certified? Just ask a favour of the school's counsellor?

Hamburger : Sorry but I'm a dummy in all those scout badges. I'm not sure how worthy they are. If they showcase your leadership abilities and are not too far off from a king scout's then probably you should include them. Any Recomers who know how worthy those Jaya badges are?

Starfire : A testimonial is from the school. Different schools have different formats. Mine basically stated my activites, conduct, post and achievements . I had a co-curriculum report as well. Resume or CV is done by you. I did one to summarize my activities and achievements. I did it in order of importance. i.e. international (latest year) - national, etc. It's up to you or you can use the ms office wizard for the template. I asked my principal or asst. principal to certify the certs. BAsically, school officials with the stamp that says certified true copy or salinan sah benar and his or her signature and name and post.

50??? I think that's a bit overboard. Make it around 20, try not to go more thatn 25. Of course, if you have more than 30 National Level certificates, send all of them. The rule of thumb that I follow is that all of the certificates above the District Level should be submitted (i.e State, Natonal and International Level). As for the ones at District Level, all of it that you achieve something out of it, i.e other that participation should also be submitted. Also, clubs, societies and association that you're a president ought to be submitted. The rest, I guess, will be at your own discretion.

As for testimonial, rulb has answered it pretty well. I just would like to add that a testimonial could also be from a teacher, e.g your class teacher or someone in authority in your school or someone who knows you pretty well (must be a teacher or someone in authority, not your friend).
