Chinese Characters Software on WindowsXP/Mac OS X

Hi guys,
I'm currently using Mac OS X (jaguar), but I do have a Windows XP resides below my bed.

I've used Mac for writing Chinese characters and read them, but unfortunately, seems like I cannot write them in the forum.

Could you guys tell me (esp sim_min ;-) ) what sort of Program that you guys use when you post chinese characters in the forum(on windows/Mac)?...
I went to the library to use NJ Star but it was to no avail...
I googled and found nothing to resolve this mystery ..
But before I ask around, I want to ask Recommers first...

Do u have problems with NJ Star? U can download NJ Communicator, at the url below

there are some adjustments needed for windows xp....
u can read the instructions at the url given above too....

Aiks, now I have to uninstall NJ Communicator in order to view Chinese in Firefox :cry:
Now, any other way to input chinese?

weird, I face no problem on using NJSTAR v2.23(NT) in firefox browser (window xp service pack2).

Erm..which version of NJStar are u using? Where can I download it? I used NJ Communicator before this.. :(

I suggest that we can try installing chinese fonts from Window XP itself.. just go to the regional and language setting -> languages -> Install files for East Asian languages. (for some computers you may need to use the installation CD) Then you will be able to view chinese characters without any additional softwares like NJStar.

For inputting chinese characters, just click on "details" under the language tab, and then click on add, and choose the language. Chinese (PRC) for simplified chinese and Chinese (taiwan) for traditional. After you have installed, simply juggle input methods by the language bar.

But sometimes it is quite weird. While doing steps above resolve most problems of viewing chinese, sometimes it still fails to show the characters and I have to either change the "character encoding" setting or use third party software to view them.

That's what I did to view chinese in Firefox. Cos NJ Communicator cant seems to work on Firefox. But after that, Chinese Characters dont work in Winamp Playlist... So now, I have winamp with weird characters, and no input for chinese....

I use NJSTAR version2.23(NT). Yeah, window xp can support chinese character in firefox browser without any additional language software. But still I can use the njstar to input chinese character into firefox browser. Winamp doesn't work at all with the chinese language pack in window xp except NJSTAR.
