they offer thinking skills which is compulsory for EVERY taylor's student pursuing the a levels programme...

u take the exam at AS level, which is just a subsidiary level...

the paper is rather tough, it teaches you to think... DUH, i mean you have to identify arguments, the structure of an argument, such as by deciding the conclusion, reasonings, and intermediate conclusions of a paragraph, or long sentence...

then, theres arithmetic, where students are required to CRACK their heads by solving mind-boggling questions... i'm serious, it drives me nuts...

haha, but I would say that it's not that bad...

however, I would suggest studying in HELP, because I feel that students there are more well-rounded... for some unkown reason...

I had met a few HELP students. They are Toastmasters and their club are pretty active and that might give you some indication of their culture.

Thinking skill is part of A-level's General Paper.. It's already included in it.. :?

Thinking skill is part of A-level's General Paper.. It's already included in it.. :?Not exactly. Thinking Skills is one subject on its own, while General Paper is another subject on its own. Taylor's students do Thinking Skills (which I suspect is to prepare students for the Cambridge written tests) while most of the other colleges' students do General Paper.

Yup. Thinking Skills is a compulsory subject for Taylors' students. But for other colleges like Sunway for example, they take General Paper instead.

I took thinking skills as one subject during AS level in taylors

It is kinda fun and challenging. From this subject, i learnt a lot of problem solving which is useful in some sense compared to plain english essay subject.

If u know the rules of the game, it is quite easy to secure an A without any problems.

No flowering english is needed. SMILE

Thinking skills is okay actually. Yes it teaches you to think. My lecturers told me that thinking skills is only offered in certain colleges. From what I've heard, ktj and taylors. it's considered as a subject on its own but you only take it for AS level.

Kind of confused here - I hear of many A-level students having results of 3-4As or Bs...does that mean they only sit for 3-4 exam papers? The subject combinations listed on the colleges' websites are generally more than 3-4.

The subjects available on A level varies from different colleges.
Most of my friends study A level at disted ,so i have some info there.
As for A level in disted college, we must take a total of 5 subjects tat is :
1) sciences(phy,che,bio) choose either 2
2) Further Maths
3)genaral paper
4)moral study (considered as a LAN subject)

The general paper is almost the same with pengajian am as those take in form 6.the only different is it is in english.

ps:Corret me if i am wrong.

Taylor's offers Thinking Skills instead of General Paper, unlike most private colleges offering A Levels.
It is taken only at AS Level but not A2.
