To begin with, i would like everyone to introduce yourself here
Name: White2020
PLM that i know: AutoCAD, Solidworks
Occupation: (Student)SPM leaver 2006

Name: Kelvin
Stuff I know well: Pro/E, Abaqus/Standard and Explicit, Hypermesh, Hyperview.
Stuff I know a little: Catia V5, Ariadne
Stuff I did: Designed a crude model of automatic sliding door with Pro/E. 4 months plus experience in FEM for mobile phone drop test simulation and static loads simulations.
Occupation: student (4th year Mechatronics), intern/part time at Nokia Product Creation Centre, Ulm, Germany.
Feel free to ask me about Pro/E and FEM. FOC but don't expect much, I'm not a hotline. :)

Knowledge, only a little Autocad, c++ programming, website script writing html etc. I should ask my father, he would know more about this stuff.

Name is Taufiq.
It has only been a few month since I left school but I might have forgotten everything.
I used to be using Matlab almost everyday before but never use it anymore since I started working.

My name is Deer. I was introduced to Recom and this particular group by a friend who wants to remain anonymous.
Just graduated. Currently working with NOVA Chemicals, Red Deer, CA.
Anyone heard of AspenTech - HYSYS?
It is a very powerful software for simulating chemical plants and oil refineries. Equipped with tools for estimation of physical properties and liquid-vapor phase equilibrium, heat and material balances, HYSYS can simulate many types of chemical engineering equipment and processes.
For more information, visit <http://www.aspentech.com/hysys/index.cfm>
<u>Previous Experience</u>
My team was given a task to design a dissolving pulp mill from green hemp straw. An important aspect of this design was a heat integration system that will generate surplus power and steam for the mill. Excess electricity can be sold to the power grid as additional income.
To design this, HYSYS was very helpful in determining the operating conditions for the system. By simulating this process, I was able to optimize power and steam production accordingly. Here is a picture illustrating an example of this software.

So, if you need HYSYS to design a chemical process ... or a heat recovery system, I'll be glad to help!

hey wonderful :D
I am looking for oil and gas solutions and I heard AVEVA is powerful too.

I've never heard of AVEVA before. It looks like it's a newer software and a more integrated one.
Wow. Time to check AVEVA out!

Windows Vista cannot support the old version of AutoCad and Solidworks, but what I have learnt are older version of these. I wonder AutoCad 2007 has the almost same code and function with the older version like AutoCad2000 or not?
If you were me, will you choose an more advanced AutoCAD 2007 or a more familiar AutoCAD 2000?

I am specialize in using Pro/ENGINEER WIldfire.
I like the idea of integrated PLM system. This save time and avoid potential problem.
For CAD, I use pro/E for top down and bottom up design.
The parameter feature based 3D design is just really cool.
For CAE, I use pro/MECHANICA to excute thermal and structural simulation.
know only BASIC thingy about Pro/E..... (etc : create a tube with a hole )... hehe
Pro/E ROCKZZZZzzz
