For the past couple of years, we have been having more than 250 ReComers who get JPA. Hopefully, we would break the mark of 300 ReComers who get JPA this year!

Hope that all of you would not forget ReCom. ReCom is where it is, because of many fellow ReComers who come here to share with others! And as every year goes on, we build this on with more and more people who are able to share with others. I just hope that all of you would continue to support ReCom.org, share what you know here in ReCom~!
ReCom has been around for 1477 days. And last Sunday, I was talking to Consul General of US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and he mentioned that he came across a Malaysian Students Forum/Network online and I was asking him what it is, and surprisingly, it is ReCom.org~!
Maybe one of you guys could even organize a huge ReCom gathering together! We could leverage on Discover U.S. Education - KL '07 that masterof_none (Syamsul Hasran, founder of ReCom.org) is leading. We could have a good gathering then at Mid Valley Exhibition Center on 22nd July 2007. A lot of facilitators and committee members there are fellow ReComers too!

Yes sure. I joined recom for juz around 1 month. Bt I hv been browsing since after my SPM last year. I love this forum. A community of us malaysians wan to study n archieve success.
Gathering ? We held one in Ipoh. At last juz 7 members turn up bt I feel tat's juz nice for d 1st time. We dunno each other at all bt at last we came to noe each other n talk for hours. huhu. I reli enjoy it. When there's recommers gathering, I will try to come if possible.

Wanna ask.. Wld it be a disadvantage for us to study in a new language(for me, German. Wat more, this is d most difficult language in d world)? Bcoz seehua told me all in gERMAN except a paper or 2...

I also don't really know how to classify acturial science, but to me it would be under social science/humanities like business and finance. Cos even though we do study a lot of maths at the end of the day, all our knowledge is generally going to be applied in the business world.

There are alot of ppl from sarawak especially from Sibu and Kuching. When i say a lot, it's really a lot. WiFi.............. You are hopelessly optimistic..... Welcome to INTEC, College of Reality.
If you are staying in Guys' hostel in Section 6, than there is free WiFi. If you are a girl and then you stay in Section 18, you need to pay for WiFi. It costs a bomb and it's very slow.

No CC. No supermarket. About Intec, you are right to some extent. It's quite fun sometime. But most of the time we just end up in agony.... I think you are from AUSMAT rite? You are guy or lady??? For guy, if you are 'lucky' enough to be checked in to Section 6 Kolej Cendana. 6 guys for one apartment. 4 guys share one big room, 2 guys share one small room. One bathroom, one toilet.....
For girls.... I don't really know but what I heard from friends was 4 girls share one apartment. 2 each for one room.
When I say apartment, DO NOT ATTEMPT to imagine apartment you may see in tv programmes or or any apartment you have been...
The so-called apartment is actually modified flathouse. So, don't expect too much and ask for too much

Of course got lo,Intec is not that bad.... ALL lecture halls and CLASSROMMS have air-con though some of them might not b working....sometime.....
Exciting NEWSS.... There is a new library coming up. It's under construction now and will open in 2008..
you are so lucky... I don't have much chance to savour the new library... Very biggggg... The recent library has air-con and quite cold oso but it's too small and over-crowded sometime especially during kiasu(exam) season....

I'm in Germany currently in my 4th year and graduating soon.
From what I saw during my A-Levels in INTEC, a lot of students took it easy and achieved less than desirable results.
Once you're in Germany, another bigger hurdle awaits. There are students sent home after not making the cut. There are no more 2nd chances from JPA/Government anymore here. Just to let you know.
P.S. If you fail a subject for the 2nd time in Germany, you have to appeal to resit a 3rd time. If you fail again, you are expelled from studying any course with this subject in any other Uni in the state.
Also not forgetting the embarassment of watching your juniors in a higher semester than you are. Sometimes it's better to just go home.
But all in all, take it as a challenge and enjoy! At least I am.

i just checked from the esila web there, there should be five types of engineering course offered for non-bumis...engineering(for european countries), german engineering, diploma japan engineering, diploma korea engineering and france engineering...the long list there just got ''engineering'' and ''german engineering'' wor...those who got korea and japan for the country, what u all got is diploma course only or till degree?

My dear. there is no such ranking in INTEC because if you take your programme half-heartedly, than you'll in big shit. That's all.
This is what I can provide you. Let's start with ALM
ALM is extremely stressful for those who don't like tests and exams. Alot of memorizing stuffs. You must study a lot...
AUSMAT
one-and-the half-year programme. If you don't like assignments, you'll be in deep trouble...
ADFP and ACTP
American programme. Some of them these two are the least stressful programme because you are just doing SAT in INTEC. You are not yet a pre-u student.... You must like math because I see many ADFP-ians slaving for calculus and got slaughtered by math. So be careful....

Australisa definitely in INTEC. UK I 'm not sure coz I didn't see any UK accounting students in INTEC. Those who get UK medic is extremely lucky because in our batch, I think only few of them got UK medic. UK pharmacy... maybe in INTEC.. I'm not sure about KTJ and KYUEM. Some of UK-bound students are sent ther. Definitely not Taylor's though

Walao, I'm not that geng laa.. I got A for both chem and bio but my A is relatively small in comparison with my roommate's BIG AAA..
Edexcel is easier than CambridgeA-level... Scoring A is commonplace but >90 is kinda hard for me.. Once in a blue moon, I score>90...Very seldommmm, especially in 2nd sem,....

I think JPA is one of the few if not the only one that gives the scholars chance after 2nd chance after peluang terakhir.
My bro under Sime Darby can't even fail one subject or he'll get cut off.
At least for the Germany scholarship, I know that if you fail your German during the A-Levels, you get to go into another group to sit the exam again albeit in Germany. This costs JPA more money. Then in Germany again, if you fail your course due to expulsion from the Uni, you get to change your course or Uni but start from scratch (subjects can't be transfered due to a change in course). 3rd chance from JPA. Again, longer study period, more money needed.
Therefore, please take heed and don't waste the money of the Malaysian people and put some humility in your souls. 15A1s 20A1s, President of the pengawas supreme council etc mean nothing later on.

ALM students really don't have life. There are countless tests in one sem duhhhhstrange... i have friends from ALM who play games everyday... and still get very good results...
How you define good result??? In ALM, good result is defined as scoring >90 for bio and >95 for chem.... But I also play game everyday la... Depends on how you cope with the stresssgetting 100% for exams...

wah.. it's good to know that many got german engineering..
some of u may not going to intec but to kbu instead.. i've filled all intec forms when jpa called me that i've been transfered to kbu. hurm.. i was schocked.. really.. but then, it's wonderful.. what's the differences between the 2 programs..? 1st: at kbu is 1 year shorter, that is 18 months only, 2nd: u do ausmat instead of alevel.. hurmm.. bad side is u have to work lot more when u r doing ausmat.. btw the college management told me that jpa sends 150 students to kbu.. dunno if all r doing german engineering coz that is the only program where jpa scholars are in now.. nice if u go to kbu.. i'll have juniors.. hehe :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

I don't know about this batch of JPA. But during my brother's batch(3 years ago) his friend got German engineering. And you apply which engineering you want when you enter the university. But as far as I know(correct me if i'm wrong) in USA most unis require the students to choose their major only in the second year.
oh ok. that's alright then. what i heard was that jpa picks our course for us. hope it ain't true.

i got jpa S to do veterinary science in canada. Couple of questions:
i called jpa and was told that i would be doing ICPU at taylor's. As the program only starts in July, can i do form 6 in the meantime? what courses would i be doing in taylor's?

Thanks...for sue89 i think it is a special case coz she got very good spm result...in the list...the only stated uk for mara students...so sue is very lucky...i think only sue alone get to UK...

Does anyone know how to check if you have already accept the jpa offer or not. I got my results from the website and there is a link asking us to accept it or not. I fot a bad short term memory just then and forgot if I have already click the link.
erm..cannot click again meh??i thought can 1 mar..
i click twice...... hopefully it won't be a problem......
i click 5 times... feel not safe about this system.. afraid that wat will happen if JPA din receive it...
will it be ok to click more than 1 time? you know,just in case something went wrong in the 1st attempt (touch wood). gosh if only there's a way we can check whether jpa has received our confirmation or not...

erm...i didn't get it...but got one question here...
for those who got engeering(for jpa of coz)...germany,korea and japan are in the list?i thought they should be different from the general engineering?
just curious about that coz the list there most of them got these three countries...and applied ''engineering''...but not ''german engineering'' or etc...
