There's going to be a planet sighting on the 22nd. You will be able to see 5 planets in the sky - mercury, venus, mars, saturn and jupiter and it will be easy to identify them because four of them will be alligned with the moon. For malaysians, on the 22nd that is tonight, there will be a crescent moon and below the moon, you will be able to see mercury, a planet that reflects light but doesn't blink (that's how you tell a star apart from a planet). Above mercury is venus - in one straight line. Venus will be very near the moon, so you can basically see venus next to the moon. Above venus (still in a straight line), you'll be able to see mars (and mars is really hard to identify because light from mars does flicker considering that it's quite far away from earth and it's smaller than saturn and jupiter. Mars can clearly be seen next to the moon (this time you won't mistaken it for a star) on the 24th. Still in a straight line, above mars is saturn. The brightest planet that you can see which is often regarded as a UFO sighting or a plane. All these planets can be seen in the western part of the sky. And Jupiter will be right behind you! Happy planet gazing.

Nice info, but I doubt I'll see anything with the amount of smog and fog over LA :( I'd get confused with lights from all the aircraft anyway
