I'm thinking about doing Law and few Schools like UM and UITM comes to mind. I have no clue and have no idea where to inquire about the procedure of joining public Universities in Malaysia other then the UPU route.
Although Universities in England also could be considered but i think i want to do it in Malaysia as my family is there and sort of take a break of the cooler climates
Any of us here currently doing something similar? or at least have an idea where i could start looking?
My mom suggested to start of as a part time student in UITM, but i think that would be to slow as i wish to finish it as fast as i could. Any other route?
I wish i did this instead of Electrical engineering in New haven.
So anybody? would really appreciate the inputs

maybe you can apply thru UIA. I can ask someone who works there of the requirements, procedures etc.
Bout UiTM, will ask my dad bout it. :D
Hmm..i thought you're going to that pilot school?

That would be great. Is your father a lecturer in UITM?
Hey Thirdshifter,
Wow! Somebody on the same boat as I am. In fact, I am too looking for law school admissions info in Malaysia, and this is what I have found. For local U's like UiTM, UIA and UM - They have a "mature" student enrollment, in which you apply directly to the Univ. How, who, where and when, I can't answer yet. I am going back this summer and hopefully I can find out more about admissions to these law programs.
I am aware of the part time program, but like you, I am not interested too. Maybe once I find out something more, I will post it here. To anybody who can help us, please do and thanks a lot!!

hi everyone
now i`ve found lots of friends who are going to do law! :)
anyway Thirdshifter what qualifications do u have? STPM or Alevel? or SPM? if SPM and STPM, you have to apply through UPU, but if A-levels then i think you should directly contact the admission tutors because you`ll be categorised under the international quota even though you`re malaysian.
Honestly UIA or UM-both of them are the top universities.
Oh ya by the way i`m not going to do local, as i`m the holder of JPA scholarship to do law in the UK this coming sep/october.i got 5 conditional offers from Kings College, Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester and Queen Mary.i`ll be going to bristol.
hope all these will help you =)

Your welcome! anyway for private law school...i think the private colleges should have, but it`s not that popular compared to the public universities.Taylor College is having the twinning programme with University of Sheffield-UK.like Nottingham university, even though they open up their uni here, they dont have any law courses.
why dont u apply to the UK? hehe, just asking :)
anyway if you want to practice in Malaysia, make sure the institution is recognised for the Certificate of Legal Practice Exams (CLP).

I think weather in the UK is similar to north east USA. Cold! i'm tired of it.
I rather go to any School in Malaysia. I want my Hot, Muggy, uncomfortable weather. :D
i would look into the CLP when applying. Thanks for the tip.
